The BEST Starter Base Build in Valheim

I have 1900 hours in the game and this is a great starter build. Probably the best I've seen in 3 ways: Is Viking aesthetic, is cheap to build, is easy to remember how to build. When you're starting out and it's getting dark and rainy you don't want to be fiddling with something complex. This is extremely simple while still conveying a tiered hall structure. I'm truly impressed.

I hardly need suggestions (about 700 hrs) i think anymore but i like to watch them out of curiosity and cos i believe there is something to be learned from even the most beginner oriented content. Apart from that. I rly like this build cos it immediately teaches a new player how to build nice looking, functional, efficient and epic houses. It's a great starting point. One might outgrow the space needed for progression relatively fast tho but sure as heck my very 1st home didnt look half as good. It was basically a barn so yeah...

Stick to the coastline until you can see nearby lands across the ocean (weather pending of course) and make the quick skip across to minimise danger 🙂

I like this house but it too small for what I'm going for. I like having multiple firplaces in my structures so I can cook more at a time. Multiple doors are also nice so I can get in from different sides.

I put 3-4 cooking racks on my fire, 6-8 pieces every few seconds is plenty lol

I ended up adding side shed like things for my upgrade benches. So the workbench is inside, but the upgrade things are outside. Also played with my chimney top differently. Small tweaks really. Need to make my dock now.

Noob question, is there a difference, aside from looks.. Between a complete house vs one that has few missing panels, maybe a hole in the roof? Like the ready made ones early on

If you don't have a closed off roof from your structures then rain will cause damage to the wood over time. You can also only use crafting tables (workbench, forge etc.) If they're fully protected from wind and rain.

Diagonal beams don't rot luckily. Only horizontal beams rot in the rain if unprotected 🙂

For events beyond Eikthyr and The Elder you'll definitely want to step up your defences for sure! Digging out a ditch around the base with some wooden stakes for anything that manages to work it's way across is a good combo! 😁 I also have a watchtower build tutorial that is great for arching from behind a defensive line 👍
