Keep up the awesome work, can’t wait for the next recipe. Content idea: collaborate with the museum and perhaps feature one of their recipes or somehow vice versa.

It amazes me how well the blower works with pretty much no steam pressure. You can see the pressure gauge sitting at zero during the wider shots but still you can see how good the smoke of the steaks and mostly the butter bath gets pulled into the firedoor at 4:48
@CMDRSweeper Жыл бұрын
A good title is still "Cooking with Hyce" especially since he will cook on any steam engine that is ready to go... Perhaps even the Big Boy if Ed were to visit. I still want to see you do some form of bread on a steam engine, if you don't have too much temperature control, a slight cheat with a "Half baked" bread that you finish in the smokebox for an example. Still loved those shots at the end, at first I felt cheated we didn't get to see the entire train... Then Hyce delivered with second steak delivery.

Your cooking series is a lot of fun to watch! The steaks turned out pretty well; I prefer mine rare but I also understand the challenges of cooking on a thin sheet of pressed steel inside a firebox. Maybe you need a cast-iron shovel? ;) Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this before, but the harmonica bit at the end of the fadeout music reminds me a lot of the intro to Blackfoot's "Train, Train".

well hyce i have a solution for your Temp cooking put your shovel higher up with a shovel stand wrap your food in foal then keep it about 3 inchs up off the coal for 375 400, 4-5 inches for 350 you wrap it in foal then put it in for a few seconds to a min a time that will slow the heat so you can get it more evenly cooked use the firebox temp gauge fire temp you want fire temp at 400 try to keep fire temp about 400

Two classic American staples, Beef and steam locomotives. In November 2003 my fiance and I rode up the mountain between Cumberland and Frostburg MD, while enjoying prime rib in the dining car. It was powered by a coal fired steam engine not currently listed in service on the WMSR website. I don't recall its number, builder, or model. Hopefully its restoration is in progress or being planned. If you know the details and status of this engine please share.
