I was looking for a good light to use in the studio (I make music gear demos) and I was happy to see that you had done a review about it. Months back your reviews about several cameras made my choice about which camera to get a lot easier - and once again your review proved to be very genuine and helpful. I'm happy I got the UL60 for lighting my otherwise dark room without having to deal with fan noise in the room and in the recordings. Thank you Mark.

Loving the reviews as always ! Just picked up an A7IV. Sony should definitely be tossing some $$ your way for the easy going, to the point, fun & playful yet professional approach you take to your content. It's incredibly difficult to be playful, comical and easy going without things seeming too loose or like it's a 'joke'. As always, very high quality comedy matched with exceptional product knowledge and skill. It's a treat when I see your name pop into the subscription box! Oh yeah -- I may need to check out these lights. You know, once I can financially recover from the A7iv purchase!

I switched my key light from the Aputure 120d mkII to the Godox UL150 at the end of 2020 and I haven’t had a single regret. I ended up buying another UL150 and now I am really considering the UL60 too!

Nice review as usual. I've been using the Sophiez SO-68tD bi-colour flapjack from Falconeyes for four years now. No fan and the diffusion is built in (not to mention they're so flat you can stack them against a wall when you're not using them. You've probably seen Caleb Pike and Jeven Dovey talk about them. For my channel's talking-head stuff, at f2.8 I'm usually turning the power down on the light to 70%. They're a little North of $500 Canadian, but pretty awesome. The new version is the SO-68TDX II. I can't see myself messing around with domes or umbrellas much in the future.

Yeah I saw Caleb’s and Jeven’s they look great. I think I should try to get some in.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Hey Mark… getting back to this subject… I am about to buy this light… which softbox would you suggest for this light, considering the kind of videos I am doing in my other channel (kzbin.info/door/Gp9eeNb8BtVRMJe2yyqSiA)? I’d appreciate if you could take a (fast) look and suggest something! Thanks in advance!

I love the silent aspect and build quality of this light! seems way worth it. the only thing is i like to do short films and sit down videos in my house and wondered if these would be overkill? I hear many people say they use these for studio work. is this good for a casual user as well or just for studio users? I'm picking between this and the ML60. thanks, love your videos!
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Жыл бұрын
Myself and other youtubers use these in our “studios” but they are causal videos when you think about it. i love these lights. they are my favourite by far because of the silence and build quality. If it’s in the budget - go get it.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thank you so much! You also sold me on getting the Sony zv-e10. Can’t wait til it comes in! I wanted to also do you think having the UL60 and UL150 is good for being in uncontrolled room. Like I said, im shooting mainly in my room and I have a big panel window style in there. Didn’t know what wattage I’d need for such a situation. Would love a line to a video of yours if you have one on such subject!

Top form sir. "Do , nude, a three-pronged outlet." 😂😂 Almost par with a recent favourite, "People always say it feels good in the hand. I don't know where else it would feel good." (Sony 11mm f1.8 - The Best Vlogging Lens for APS-C and the ZV-E10 @ 2m43s). I don't have room for studio lighting in my increasingly tiny flat 😅 so, should the opportunity arise, please do consider putting together an episode for those of us trying to light ultra tiny spaces (I'm talking 1 meter cubed). I'm currently using a north facing window as my key light. That's right, the sun rises every day on the off chance I need lighting 😎
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
Window light can be great. but in a small space, look at the Neewer 530 pro panel light. cheap and silent and awesome and great for small spaces

Hello and thank you for all your wonderfully informative videos. The UL150 price has been reduced to about the same price as UL60. Do you still advise to go with the 60? 🤔 This will be my first studio lighting pro upgrade.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow - if you can get the UL150 for the same price - go for that!!
@jmolloy57332 жыл бұрын
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis hi Mark, thank you. I rewatched your UL60 video again, and gleaned from it something’s I missed the first couple of views. The size difference, the controller, and the fact that you generally use at a small percent of its total power output. I’m thinking to go with the UL60. FYI, B&H has the UL150 reduced price at $289 🧐

I was thinking of buying this one (after your video), but in Greece costs €334. And the falcon eyes rx-t18td (100w) costs €399on Amazon and includes soft boxes 🤔 (and its bicolor) Would you give the extra 60-70 to get the flexi led one?
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
nothing replaces a cob with a softbox for me in terms of good soft light. but that flexi light is great and a good solution for small spaces. but I would not switch my UL60 with softbox for it. You can probably find a softbox for 70 Europe as well for the Godox

Best light ever. I like the Smallrig softboxes right now. High quality and not too pricey amzn.to/3eq2U0P. And sturdy light stand or basic c-stand will be fine. It's not a heavy light

Hey man! Question! Would this be compatible with the Google Home app? Like "Hey Google! Turn my key light on!". Hahaha. Right now I use two smart bulbs as my key and fill and I love them cuz I can change their colors in a snap. Any idea about this? 😀
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis2 жыл бұрын
You might be able to turn them on or off as you can do with any device if connected to a receiver of some kind. But just the app to the light - I don't think that can work.

How is it as compare to Aputure LS60X/D?
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Жыл бұрын
The Godox is a little brighter and has no fan so it will remain silent no matter how you use it. But the Godox is daylight balanced only. The Aputure has a fan that will kick in but it is a bicolour light so if you want to go from warm to cool light you can.
