@@icytwitchy123 What Parts? The EG33 came out of a Subaru SVX, and used a EJ 5-Speed, and ran a SVX ECU to run the engine, but maintained the XT6 ECU to run the Cybrid Power Steering

Not only have I heard of it, I've owned 3 of them... one XT Turbo, and two XT6s. They're not fast, but back in the day, that wedge shape sure looked like the future!

Cool. I convinced my girlfriend back in 1995 to buy one of these used. We're I live we had a terrible blizzard in 96 whole city was shut down. Meanwhile I was out driving around helping people. Cool car. Subaru called me few years after asking to buy it but already got rid of it.

Always loved the XT. Remember test driving both the Turbo XT and the XT6 one day. Both 5-Speeds and just couldn't pull the trigger on either. I toyed w/ the idea of picking up an SVX, but with small kids at the time, I was Minivan and SUV bound. Nice video. Thanks for sharing the history.

Any update on this car? I was looking up the specs on that engine... Built for a car 1000lbs heavier, producing about 2x the HP of the original XT engine; must be much faster than on your "careful" drive. Have you done much more with it? Have you tested a 0-60 time (at least unofficially)? I'd had a 1985 front-wheel drive piece of junk XT, but still loved it completely. So happy to see someone putting that kind of interest into an XT!

I used to have a blue XT, automatic, but with DIGITAL instruments. It had a car symbol in the middle with bars to the left and right, that would come towards you as you acclerate.

Just tint the inside of that sunroof and it will get rid of that crusty look. The pain looks rather good for what it is and how old it is. Roof need some paint too but it looks good. Also aint nothing luxury sports car about a c5 vetta, that interior lol

Why? More power but ruin the weight to power ratio. Also ruin the weight ratio front to back. The 4 Turbo is a dream to drive anyways and who drives these on straigjt roads anyways? Literally cannot see why anyone would do this unless their 4 was toast and a 6 was the only thing they could find to swap.
