I find it so odd that the United States has such low standards when it comes to sunscreen. Canada, Europe, Asia, Middle East....they all have higher standards and many of the sunscreens available in the United States are not allowed to be sold there. Anyway, can't wait to try a couple of these cuz the Supergoop I am currently using feels suffocating...

Tho I love korean sunscreen but very difficult to find a real water resistant one, so I usually go to japanese sunscreen. Kose suncut sun gel is super waterproof and honestly the most light weight and breathable sunscreen which is so ironic.

@@bhumimandera2515 It doesn't have fragrance but it does have alcohol. Most japanese sunscreen has alcohol but It's a tradeoff to have a waterproof sunscreen that is feels like & breathable.

I was so excited to see the pokemon Anessa sunscreen milk in the thumbnail! I wanted the Eevee one but I was only able to get Squirtle. I hope they bring them back, I'd love to collect more, I'd definitely buy Eevee and Pikachu. I absolutely adore that sunscreen, it's my favorite and has a similar effect to the mini tatcha silk canvas primer I have, super similar imo. I find it very smoothing and I like the finish, though I usually prefer a dewy finish like isntree. But I consider it a great sunscreen and primer in one.

I like the DRMTLGY tintrd moisturizer spf 46 and the Undefined Beauty R&R mineral sun serum. In the summer, the more I sweat, the more sensitive my skin gets to chemical sunscreens. With mineral sunscreens I always prefer the tinted ones

Hi Sarah I'm using ultrasun spf50+ extreme and have been using ultrasun now for almost two years everyday. I've used it on an off for over a decade though and I trust it to protect my fitzpatrick one skin. A lot of spf's make my rosacea go mental, but this one doesn't. I use the spf30 in the colder months and the spf50+ in the warmer months (Scotland). I also use the lip version - it moisturises and doesn't taste bad lol. I like a cream better than the Evy mousse as I find it easier to judge how much I'm applying, but they work in a very similar way. In the height of Summer I use the spray version as a top up, but I have two layers on as a base in the morning and this keeps me protected all day. I don't do sport or swim or go to the beach, so i'm getting incidental exposure and it's enough. Best wishes.

Reimann P20 sensitive faces spf 50+ with a UVA PFA factor above 50 is my favorite EU one. It’s water resistant and doesn’t turn my skin yellow the way LRP fluid does and doesn’t have alcohol somehow. It’s so hard to get ahold of though so I always have those others as backup but especially like today with a UV 12 I’m always going for p20. The sensitive face one is a little higher than the p20 kids and I prefer it. More expensive and annoying to get but it can be done!! I’m so curious what annessa PFA/PPD factor is I also use it in high UV peaks and feel like it’s quite high but they don’t say anywhere

I still put European sunscreen on top of UVA protection capability, Korean options are catching up but they must try harder to close the gap. With Japanese sunscreens I still have a lot of questions, their formulations have the least variety compared to Korean and EU options, of course they are still better than US sunscreens, but at the same price range, I would prefer Korean or EU sunscreen more.

Have you tried the Altruist sunscreens? I wish they would put the PPD on the label like SPF. The PA system is better than nothing, but it's not staying up to date now that there are sunscreens with a PPD of up to 50 and not 16 like PA++++

LRP might have a US approved version of the UVmune. If you see that in a US store it's not necessarily fake but it's still going to be different from the Euro version in this video. I just found out CeraVe does two different versions of their sunscreens: one for the US market, one for the rest of us. I've heard good things about their rest-of-us sunscreens but haven't tried them myself yet. So apparently that's a thing now, companies making two versions of their sunscreens because the FDA is weird but the US market profitable. 😃

I don't think the Isntree is water/sweat resistant, it is just for normal daily use. I've been using the Anessa one in the past 2weeks, and I found that it makes my face whitter than normal, likely due to titanium dioxide in it, also strong floral scent and lots of alcohol, and expensive, so don't think I will buy it again. The La Roche Posay is good, but it makes my face a bit orange by the end of the day. The Bioderma has very good UVA protection, but it gives a white cast.

If you're a person like me who does poorly with US Chemical sunscreens and I'm stuck using the mineral variety (not my favorite as they tend to be too gooey/greasy and some don't spread that well), what is the best, most sheer sunscreen you would use? I don't use sunscreen as a moisturizer (Like Dr. Dray seems to do this and I can't stand it) as that's what I have my skincare products for. Also, I'm dying of curiosity regarding your age. You have to be younger than I am but some of the stuff you mention leads me to think you might be closer to my age. Regardless, you look very good and have pretty skin!
@ryanmg90

You should try European or Japanese chemical sunscreens. They're much easier to tolerate for most people. Mineral sunscreens in general are overhyped garbage that look and wear like crap, and will not yield as good of protection as a chemical sunscreen will.

The Anessa is very sheer and non greasy but the perfume in it made my eyes swell (I'm allergic to basically everything though). I gave it to my mom who loved it so ymmv. La Roche Posay UVMune is awesome and comes in a fragrance free version. Not greasy or irritating! Very sheer.

Is the Isntree Sungel really sweat resistant?? I had it last year and I LOVE how it applies but I’m such a sweaty beast (😩) that I don’t trust sunscreens that aren’t sweat resistant and I couldn’t find anything that says it is so I didn’t use it much. If it is I will buy another tube!

Be careful buying LRP UVMune from Care to Beauty. I ordered the Oil Control Gel Cream and they send me the Anti Shine old formula. When I contacted CS, they told me theyre selling old and new stock of them together so its a lottery if you get the old and new formula. I had to make them send me the UVMune version. Im a bit wary of them now after this and theyre my go to for 2 years.
