The venn diagram of sunscreens that are adequately mattifying and leave no white cast AND don't pill (like the Eucerin one for me) is 3 circles separated by a kilometre each. 😢 - Better reapplication-friendly, especially on the go. The sunscreen cushions are looking quite promising imo, but most of the currently available ones are mineral and don't work for my brown skin.

Thanks! I appreciate the inclusion of Australian sunscreens. Have you considered making a video about sport sunscreens? I'm a distance swimmer...it's very hard to find sunscreens that stay on through hourslong swims and it's not easy to reapply when you're a few kilometres from shore! I know that lots of swimmers and competitive athletes who can't stop to reapply really struggle with sun protection. Thick, pasty, cosmetically awful zinc sunscreens seem to work best, and some swimmers even use diaper rash creams like Sudocrem and Desitin because they cling to skin well. I basically look like a mime before a long swim. I've tried so many chemical sunscreens because they look and feel better, but they all seem to wash off too fast. I feel there definitely aren't as many sunscreen options for oily skin havers. I'm not a fan of fragrance and find alcohol irritating, so Japanese sunscreens are hard for me to get into also. That Haruharu Wonder one looks good to me, especially since it's easily available to me at a good price. I'll likely go for that next. I've recently heard a lot of good things about the new Isntree Onion Fresh Fluid Sun Cream with 50 SPF (not their older Purple Protector 40 SPF one from the same line). I found the Nivea really stung my eyes. The Biore, as well. Come to think, any time I use Japanese sunscreen, it’s the same story. Like, I haven’t had even one exception so far, and I’ve tried so many sunscreens. Nowadays I stick to European and Korean SPFs, which aren’t so hellbent at torching my eyeballs out. That said, Evy is the absolutely unparalleled king of eye sting. It’s leeegendary. I suspect the very technology that makes Evy have its amazing staying power on your skin also makes it impossible to wash out of your eyes. I’ve rebought it probably 30 times regardless, but these days it isn’t allowed anywhere near my eyes and I cover that area with other sunscreens.

Despite my aggressive powdering, when I go out into the hot day I somehow end up looking immediately greasy. Powder is useless in this climate.

LOVE the Eucerin! I buy one that is very similar in the USA. My skin tends to ward dry, the climate I live in is very dry, this sunscreen does very well for me under makeup, etc. And in the USA it's very affordable

Hi. I'm Brazilian, also oily to mixed skin. Where I live in Brazil is hot and humid. I'm using the Aqua Skin UV Essence Tone Up Green Mint, it's a nightmare, as others asians I used. It let my face white (and I'm a tone of white). Also it lets oily. I think I'm done with asian sunscreen because of that oily finish and whitecast. My favorite one is Nivea Extra Radiance and Smooth, it's made in Thailand but I don't know if it's sell everywhere. It is here in Brazil. It let a glow not oily, doesn't leave a whitecast... It dries with the hours becoming a more matte finish. It's beautiful.

Honestly, I've been wanting to hear about Australian sunscreens since i started watching your content. I figured since Australia is so awesome with protecting their people with information, someone must be cooking up some crazy good sunscreens there! Listening!

Banana Boat Light as Air is an amazing sunscreen if you don’t have access to non-American sunscreens. I’d honestly use it everyday if it didn’t have fragrance in it! I use it when I’m active and use Korean sunscreens for daily wear.

Awesome list thank you! Really appreciate the Aussie sunscreen section as a NZer under the stupid ozone hole. I totally agree with Omar re: those plastic tops on the pump sunscreens haha - my LRP one comes off even in a makeup bag that is barely getting jostled around, so much so that I just carry them in a ziplock bag inside my bag now. So annoying! They just need to make it clip a little firmer.

I wholeheartedly agree with Omar, we have to reapply SPF thoughtout the day and it's bloody annoying having explosions. I have the new La Roche-Posay Athelios UVMUNE 400 Kids version and the new cap is smaller than the top of a tictac box , it's inevitably going to explode on me soon and for a more costly SPF it's packaging needs to be changed. I need an SPF that I can throw in my picnic bag, beach bag etc and not worry about it

Banana Boat "Light As Air" sunscreen is the absolute BEST in the U.S. market right now in terms of comfort and ease of use. No matter how many times i re-apply my skin always feels as if there's nothing on it! Dries clear, dry, light and comfy ! BEST SUNSCREEN EVER!

I appreciate Omar's attention to the packaging. I have had sunscreen explode in my bag several times. Also now toothpaste now they seem to have replaced screw tops with flip tops. Grr. I feel the same about shampoo/ conditioner/ moisturiser packaging, but this is only an issue when traveling and I usually transfer some to a screw-top container. Thanks Omar! 🤣

Love sunscreen videos! Australian viewer here, thanks for explaining about the restrictions influencers have, no wonder no one is reviewing Au sunscreens 😢 I’ve recently tried Le Tan BB Cream for my overseas trip. I used it on top of the main sunscreen and the tint was sheer but buildable if I wanted more covering.

Thank you for including the Australian sunscreens. It is so hard to find videos of recommended Australian sunscreens. Everyone is just recommending American and overseas sunscreens which I hate because I know that they’re not gonna be up to Australian standards. But it’s very hard to find videos of people reviewing Australian sunscreens.

Your pained expression as Omar batters the sunscreens... 😅One major question I would love you to address sometime if you wouldn't mind: are 8 hour sunscreens any good, better, or worse than the usual formulas? I live in Ireland and have been using Boots Soltan Once Factor 50 for a few months compared to using Soltan Protect and Moisurize Factor 50 previously. I feel the Once formula is not preventing sunburn as it's predecessor did. Yet the reviews are stellar. Also I feel my skin has aged hugely all of a sudden in those last few months but maybe that's just my age. I would love to have your genius and clear sighted assessment of the situation. Thank you so much. PS I wear Factor 50 religiously and correctly winter and summer because of meds I am on and also because I'm the colour of snow and never tan.

In one of your videos you said sth like "the best sunscreen is the one you actually use", and that's helped me so much in figuring out which ones to buy or try. My fave is the Nivea UV Super Water Gel 50, and has been for years now, because the gel consistency is cooling and comfortable, and with a bit of powder on top it loses the shine it leaves. No heavy or sticky feeling, beautiful pump nozzles, and the 140g size is pretty affordable, especially if I compare it with the LRP sunscreen I used and struggled with before I found the beauty of Nivea Japan. I've since tried and liked some other sunscreens (the Skin Aqua UV super moisture Gel for example) but I keep coming back to this one. The affordability and the comfortable application and wear of it make me like to wear it.

@phantomkate65 ай бұрын
In all my years of searching, I've never found a single sunscreen that didn't shine me up. Even the ones with a "matte finish" claim, back when that was a big deal before dewy was in. I think it's from the active ingredients. It has to be. They're all like that and have been since forever. Maybe a future innovation can solve it but I am not sure.
@ToyCircle5 ай бұрын
Same, I've given up at this point. Sunscreens are going to have a shine to them regardless of their claims of being matte. The filters are made in oil or something like that so it is what it is.

If you live in Europe I recommend Eucerin Oil Control Dry Touch Sun Gel-Cream Ultra Light - I have the SPF50 version. Vichy Laboratories Capital Soleil Dry Touch Face Fluid Mattifying - I have the SPF 30 version. The Vichy one will leave a cast if you slather on too much at a time, so you need to layer it and let it dry completely or it will pill. I haven't experienced any of that with the Eucerin one. Vichy is EXTREMELY matte though and I love it!

Hi Michelle Thank you for your reviews. I’m probably not your core audience, but impressed by your knowledge. Saying that, as an cyclist, I would love to see your top list in this category. From your previous videos I’ve discovered Evy, wanted to buy it, but this review changed my mind, because stickiness is no-go - I’ll be covered covered in dust. Currently my favorite “cream” (which is a spray actually) - garnier anti sand spray lsf 50+ (i guess it’s for kids). Can you recommend something else? I’m in Europe BTW Thanks!
