THE BEST T-34 IN WAR THUNDER - T-34-85 Gai in War Thunder - OddBawZ

The T-34-85 Gai is a Chinese T-34 with a few upgrades. This Chinese T-34-85 is an absolute monster on the battlefield for its battle rating and it really took me by surprise.
The T-34 85 Gai is practically identical to the Russian T-34 except the Chinese T-34-85 has a couple of cupolas and a massive 12.7mm machine gun strapped to the roof. It might not seem like a significant upgrade, but it really does help.
The Binoculars sit slightly higher as a result and you can use the 12.7mm cannon to get rid of pesky R3 T20 and similar light tanks as well as enemy aircraft that might be heading your way.
The usual Russian Bias applies to both the cannon and armour. The angled penetration modifier on the APCBC round is absolutely crazy so will easily punch through a Jumbo's upper front plate. Your own armour is full of black holes so you can bounce some ridiculous shots.
Overall, this T-34-85 feels just that little bit more competitive due to the additional machinegun and the extra pieces of armour that can bait shots allowing you more time to return fire!

The Chinese tech three is sick. I always thought it was lame because it only had copy-paste vehicles but then I got bored and started to grind the air three, now it's one of my favourites because of the variety of vehicles. In planes is good but in tanks at low tier you can build some insane lineups with shermans, t34s and isu152 LMAO

I most definitely agree, the strategy behind the maps I play in are the ones I have difficulty understanding. I get the official War Thunder channel have map guides, but I think it's mostly more on gun positions rather than the flow of battle that Odd gave tips on. Would love to see one.

I've never had love for the T34 85, but after the video I got excited to go and give it a shot, every single game was wonderful and juicy with this tank, it makes you use its mobility to flank for side shots and go hide in another location for the next target, I've even tried it in simulator and it worked wonders, every game got at least 5 kills with no deaths, except a sim battle in Campania the game was 6 vs 6 and got 1 kill.

battle maps are by far my favorite kind of game mode. 20% of the time. a lot of them have very poorly balanced spawns and cap locations. but the good maps are good if they can last longer than 5 minutes. a good battle map that pushes past the initial "team got reked and spawncamped" period plays the best out of any other game mode. they go long. the battles progress slowly and strategically. you have time to think about where you are going to position yourself, where the enemies are, how you are going to approach and take this particular hill to give yourself a good sight line for the final push to a cap. and that kind of gameplay is really fun to me. three-cap just goes too fast unless both teams ignore one of the caps and hold one each, even in games where the teams are fairly evenly matched and neither side gets camped, they don't have enough tickets in my opinion. game can end in like 7 minutes if one team holds two out of three the whole time. war thunder really does need to rework the matchmaking a lot. being able to pick what kind of game mode you play has been a feature of games since the early 2000's. queuing for conquest, king of the hill, battle, or any combination of the three is basic game design

As a Chinese myself I don't get the roundel and insignia grudge. Just keep everything historically accurate. If it's a PLA vehicle don't put ROC insignia on it, and if it's a ROC vehicle don't put PLA insignia. I've seen extremes of both sides and sometimes losing a match because of them is really fucking annoying

Only had three kills that game, the entire team literally rushed past their own cap without sparing a glance at it while me and some other dude sat there on it. T-34 1940 is probably the best T-34 in the game. Its hull armour is insane, and its gun can pen almost anything from the front with the solid-shot.

The dshka can actually save you from CAS I landed a HVAR perfectly on the middle of the roof but because it clipped the Dshka it destroyed the dshka but didn’t kill the Gai
