FUN FACT, did you know? That the Panther was only considered a medium tank by Germany, as they based the classification of their tanks on their GUNS and not their weight, every allied power actually classified the Panther as a heavy tank. Because to be fair. She do be heavy tho-

Fun fact, it weights more than IS and Churchills! IRL doesn't really matter if you call it heavy, medium, SUV OR E-bike, but In WT it has advantage of being armored as heavy tank, while still benefiting of being classified as medium, meaning they get artillery support.

I love Panther too, but in my case its Panther II, i have 3000++ match with it, and almost 10k kills, i grind my way to leopard 2a7 and all of german line only using it, combine with flakpanzer coelian and arado, sometimes i used my tiger 105, such a fire and complete lineup…

For those who dont have panther II, i can say its the first mbt in the game, ever, the hull is almost impenetrable by anything, except the mg port ofc, it also have tiger 2 cannon, with reverse gear faster than even t90m, and also have rangefinder, it’s feels almost like leopard 2 series, but older ofc…

Oh, wrong panther came to mind. Yeah, this ver. of the panther is pleasantly cracked. It's a challenge for players used to the other Panthers with the shot traps and worse turret traverse. As you said in the video, that mantlet is Magical.

I prefer the Panther F :3 Only thing that safes the Panther G in-game, is that unlike in RL, a penetration to the gun mantlet doesn't weld the mantlet to the turret, disabling the vertical traverse. In a lot of cases, improved designs are just worse in WT, because WT doesn't take any design flaws into account.

I agree with you Panther F got did a little dirty improved mantlet design and also the Kwk44 which is about 3 ft longer barrel than kwk42 and even higher velocity but they keep the penetration the same for A,G and F unfortunately. I guess because only 8 were made but that doesn't stop WT from making broken experimental or limited run vehicles all the time.

@@Kuschel_K I just checked again and apparently it was actually a pak44 128mm gun and no turrets arming the pak44(which would then be called kwk44) were actually fitted to the Panther F they only managed to mate the Panther G turret to 2 of the F so only hybrids existed. Either way the game gets it wrong because they list the kwk44 as a 7.5cm gun. It should have around 270mm penetration

if you think the reverse speed on the panther 1 variants is bad, just be glad they never produced the panther 2 lol the germans had actually fully designed the panther 2 with thicker front and side armor on the hull and a new specially designed turret and gun with thicker armor on the turret front and sides too. they only produced a shell of the hull itself with nothing installed by the time germany was defeated so it was never actually made. people who claim to be historians put the hull in a museum with a panther 1 turret on it which is historically wrong

The panther 2 project never went past the 100mm plate and 50mm side armor though because shurtzen came out, and was put into use which defeated the main threat of the 14.5mm anti tank rifle. The 100mm plate was too complicated to create since they didn't want to change the factory lines. The panther 2 was only tested with the A or G turret I forgot. The panther 2 that is in game in war thunder (vehicle that was removed) has a -15km reverse speed so it is better, but that tank was just a mock up of the supposed next gen design. The turret was only in theoretical blueprint stage as well since they did not know if the measurements would work hence the wooden mock up.
