Technically 2022 was a dry desert 🏜, nothing new, stagnation. But in software, Ai development revolution are happened, image generation destroyed whole professions of artists and photographers next. 2023 will be year of Ai generated videos and movies, whole Hollywood maybe replaced after Google as owner of biggest video library of planet started training it's machines, it's already do, and youtubers will be replaced too, time for paychecks after videos maybe quite short-term.

Honestly until I save up for a decent gaming desktop, my son got that this year for Christmas (shh don’t tell him), my steam deck is my main gaming device. Be it in my hands or hooked up to my 55” tv using a ps5 controller, it’s a pleasure to use every time. I love it.

This is splendid. It felt so relatable while you demonstrate the capabilities of each product you mentioned. It feels like I've penetrated the hype wall behind every launch and actually witness the tech being utilized at it's desired environment. Thank you!
@bubbledoubletrouble2 жыл бұрын
Given how many reviewers have lauded its $399 price, it’s amusing to hear someone call the Steam Deck an “expensive compromise”. Yes, the Series S is $299, and the digital PS5 is $399 (if you can get your hands on one), but portability (display, battery, etc.) comes at a cost.
@TheMrMobile2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. I could have done better with that phrasing.
@tams8052 жыл бұрын
It really depends on how you're using it. If you have got other systems that you play the same games on, then yes, it is an expensive compromise, even the base version.

The Steam Deck is definitely a weird one in terms of what games are compatible. All the specs to be able to run a ton of modern, AAA games, but a backlog of configuring software to make older games compatible. Tabletop Simulator and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy are two of the games in my collection I'm a little disappointed to see not make the cut, but being able to play Cyberpunk on physical hardware (instead of in the cloud like I have been), let alone on the go makes it one of my highest priority purchases.
@tams8052 жыл бұрын
@Carl Gunderson No it's not. Devs generally don't make their games compatible with it. It's to do with the state of the translation from code written for running on Windows to run it on Linux. Most of the translating software being done by WINE, with Valve and CodeWeavers really only just adding some polish on top.

I'd love to see some coverage of the Nreal Air glasses (and/or some similar glasses, since there are a couple options out there) I haven't picked them up but they're right behind the Steam Deck (which they apparently play well with) in terms of tech I wanna pick up. Could be a good pickup for the mobile life, in terms of being able to play games or watch movies (or even do work, especially since the Nreal Air specifically work with Macbooks to do an AR triple display setup, apparently) with less space taken up for the view you get with them. i.e. I've heard them described as a personal private theater before.

About the steam deck and the playdate having no backlight on the buttons. I think that is a dumb criticism to have, a control is not a keyboard, you're supposed to look at the game and feel the buttons at all times. Great video though.
@TheMrMobile2 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'm just weak-sauce on my touch gaming, but the Steam Deck has so many buttons, some of which have zero tactility, and the dpad is in such a weird place that when I'm playing in a dark plane cabin I'm usually hunting for the buttons 🤷♂️

Have a think about it, we'd love to have you down under mate. The reason why people like fossils still use gorilla glass instead of sapphire is something that a lot of people wouldn't know unless you've either had tons of sapphire watches or like myself worked in a watch store. Sapphire glass may be less prone to scratches as compared to its much lower and counterpart of Gorilla Glass however Sapphire is known to be more shatter prone then regular types of glass and quartz.. so though you may get an additional scratch or two with gorilla glass your chances of your screen actually cracking and breaking are less with gorilla glass than with sapphire. Also Sapphire is known to leave a glare and using these type of watches and bright light conditions does not work well with a glare as it's not a regular solid standard watch face the brightness and even the extra brightness abilities do not necessarily help all that great when it comes to Sapphire watches I know I also have an Apple Watch that is sapphire and I run into the same problems which is why I stopped using it and I went back to the gorilla glass options. Corning may not be the best but when it comes to SmartWatches I would still rather have Gorilla Glass than Sapphire if I was paying for a high end traditional watch like a Movado or a true Montblanc or a Piguet.. then I would choose Sapphire but I have to say my Movado connect 2.0 still looks beautiful after all this time even though there's almost no point they're using it anymore and that doesn't have Sapphire and there's not a scratch on it and I use it everywhere including work and at a desk and when I go out and when I'm gaming when I'm outside chopping wood and it hasn't had a scratch on it. Sapphire glass is not for every watch and I don't believe any Smartwatch merits Sapphire at least not from the lower end Brands like fossil and Scoggin even though Michael Kors is under their line I could see them using it as well as diesel because those are manhole covered watches as it is according to you LOL but they're choosing to not use Sapphire for a reason everybody thinks Sapphire has to be the way to go because of course Apple made it that way and it's like whenever Apple decides something that's the way that it has to go Apple did that because they know the price that you're going to have to pay when you crack that watch because you feel that it's glass is much standard and quality then Gorilla Glass so you're not going to take care of it as you would if it wasn't. Sapphire glass on a smartwatch was a business tactic to earn more money when it breaks. Take a look at how much it cost to replace a SmartWatch with a sapphire glass as opposed to replacing it with Gorilla Glass
