Really appreciate this. I've used the teleprompter once and that was a couple of years ago. May need to use it a second time and this was a great refresher. Especially choosing the speed of the prompter. Thank you.

Does the remote allow you to rewind or FF quickly? I have longer scripts and need to jump back and forth quite often, and my current setup, I need to start from the beginning, increase the scroll speed, then stop when I get back to where I need to be. It's a hassle I'd like to avoid.

Hey Adam! That's actually my biggest complaint with this particular teleprompter, which is that unfortunately, the remote is ONLY good for starting and stopping. The good news is that if you're fond of the teleprompter as far as the hardware goes, then any software/app will work with it, as long as it can be downloaded on your phone, tablet, etc. I haven't looked into it very much yet, but my guess is that you could probably find a teleprompter app that would work with one of those more capable blue tooth remotes and be all set. It's something I actually intend on figuring out for myself eventually.

@@imJMB got it. Thanks for the quick response. I'm using Proprompter studio with a remote that seems to do the same thing. Maybe my best bet is to just buy a bluetooth remote and maybe a more recent app.

That's kind of what I'm leaning toward, but again, I've no experience in it just yet. If you beat me to the punch though, let me know what you end up with and how you like it! I'd love to get a remote with more functionality.

Hey, Mitch! Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately, I've been too swamped with life as of late to even bother looking into app/remote alternatives at the moment. When the time comes that I find a suitable replacement/alternative though, I'll do my best to remember to report back and chime in. :)

How did you separate the ends of the iPad holder to drop the iPad in. I can pull the ends apart but can't keep them open to be able to place the iPad in the middle.

They won't stay open on their own. Like most tablet/phone holds, they're spring loaded, so the moment you remove any outward force, it's going to close. Your best bet would be to open it up by hand, press one corner of the ipad into place, and then press the other corner into place while gentle pulling the ends apart. Hopefully that makes sense.

In the app, does someone know if the "carrot" (the red line telling you which words you should be reading) can be adjusted up and down? Or is it static? Thank you!

With brute strength (and lost finger nails) I was able to open the ends and put the iPad in. Poor design, if you as me.

It sounds almost as though you must have gotten a defective piece. I can't think of any reason why the ipad holder should have been that difficult for you to utilize. In my experience, most spring loaded mobile device holders have some level of difficulty to them, but nothing that should result in lost finger nails. Sorry you're dealing with that. :-/
