...I enjoy your postings, and you do a pretty decent job. I enjoy your take tremendously... Met several American retirees here on KZbin. Many are retired US military. In my own neighborhood, I have met 2 married to Thai women... Both were career US Air Force... Met a Marine Helicopter gunship machine gunner who served in Vietnam... Common complains is the ever changing Thai immigration rules, fees, duties, and importation taxes... Many are electing to move to Vietnam as the choice destination...Next is the Philippines (since it is English speaking and has American culture), Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia... Thailand has a landmass smaller than the Great-State-of-Texas, but densely populated with 71 million people while Texas had about 25 millions...Yes, it's awfully crowded here... Finally, the slogan "land-of-smile" was provided to Thailand courtesy of the US government, Madison Avenue, and the CIA, following WW II, for switching side from fighting for and with the Japanese Imperial Army to the Western Allies...No, there is no sincerity here... Same goes for personal life with men and women in this society, too. Of course, I'm not telling you anything that you most likely already know... Enjoy your stay, however long or short it may be in this country... The slogan "land-of-smile" was to help boost Thailand Tourism industry...It has worked out pretty well for many decades until now... Much fewer Americans here now, not like in the years past...much fewer... More Russian presence here and throughout the country with the Russian Orthodox Churches throughout the country. That says something powerful...Funny thing. The European Union is here, too, and occupies a huge office building on the Wireless Radio street with all nationalities working inside that building... A very curious thing for me anyway...This country is not Europe...So, we have spies of all stripes eyeballing each other in Bangkok...Chinese, Russians, Americans, Israelis, Australians....et cetera.

Yes, I don’t know why the Thai people are hooked on chili. They can basically inhale handfuls of chili at one time. There’s an essence to soup flavor that gets destroyed with either too much chili.
