One thing I really love about this game (Played Spintires and Mudrunner in the past, newbie in Snowrunner) is that everyone has a reasonable different opinion on trucks and I absolutely love it. Bonding with the truck is very strange but also very true. I have most of the DLC trucks, so I have a huge advantage to start with (Mainly Tatra and Mastodon), but I absolutely love the White WS and the Fleetstar. Both are like mountain goats, they sound really good and the driving position on both is very decent (I play with Steering wheel and in first person). I know they are not the best trucks at all but so far they are doing everything I wanted from them.

You really only use the Tayga for when you have to pull a low saddle. The ANK and 5319 don't carry enough fuel. The Vorons are too tippy and don't carry enough fuel. The American trucks other than the 745C, 6900TS and 5600TS are useless in Amur, the new Derry would probably be good, but you typically won't have it in Amur unless you skip to phase 9.

Highway - Yeah sure I can agree to that. It should be noted though the MH9500 AWD is locked behind DLC, you need to find it in the Season 1 Kola region. So that could make the 57X better for those who don't have that DLC. Heavy Duty - I'd vote for the White Western being the best myself. I've never had any issue with the CT681, I think having the dead axle in the lifted position has actually stopped me from bottoming out from time to time. But I use it for short logs exclusively and always have paired with the 49X (my other short log truck). I don't know if the White can do the triple combo, I've never cared for the triple combo and only have cranes on a handful of trucks. So all my trucks can tow trailers because most don't have cranes. Kodiak I agree is fair for worst in class. Heavy - I agree Zikz 605R is one of the best in the game all around. That said if you got a 8-slot trailer needing to be moved, the best choice is a KOLOB with the Season... I think it 2 active suspension. While there are a few high saddles that sit taller then the KOLOB, the KOLOB has both good height AND the necessary girth/mass to be able to force that trailer though places. I've gotten 8-Slots places with the Cabover KOLOB that I promise you aren't getting with the 605R. But outside that specific use, yeah the 605 is better. As for worst, well yeah it has to be the 770G, no argument there. Offroad - I knew Tayga would be the pick. It's not a bad truck, I use it sometimes but I've always found that truck very overrated. Personally I like the Voron's more. While most go for the Grad, the Voron-D actually became a favourite of mine. Objectively however one of the Azov's are the best, both the 8X8 and 10X10 outshine the Tayga or any 6X6 by quite a margin, they are just objectively better more capable trucks with good size fuel tanks while being very efficient. Royal is fair for the worst. Scouts - Someone else spreading lies about the CAT TH I see. It's true cranes are better for lifting, but go to the garage and take the boom off the CAT, it becomes an extremely capable scout. I even scouted out large amounts of Kola and Amur with the CAT, it's crazy cable in mud as well as very fuel efficient, it may only have a 110L tank but said 110L will allow the CAT to cover a bloody lot of ground. I wouldn't say it's the best scout, as long as you avoid high centering on the rocks the Tatarin is indeed better. But the CAT is very overlooked and underappreciated for just how good of a scout it is. It's certainly not the worst. The Scout 800 is indeed bad for tipping. I can't believe people actually compare it to the Chevy CK1500, the CK is one of the best small 4X4 scouts in the game, maybe the Gor and Marshall with their special tires beats it, otherwise CK destroys every other small 4X4 in the game. Scout 800 has no right being compared to the Chevy. I don't agree with all your choices, but overall solid list dude.

WWS 4964 can't do the trailer, bed and crane triple combo, but I'm in agreement with you that the triple combo is overrated anyway. If I need that much space, I'd just go crane + low saddle and get a 5-slot sideboard semi trailer. That being said, the 4964 is a good truck to have a crane on anyway, as its' wider body makes it more stable when winching loads.
@justinlynch3 Жыл бұрын
@@Tyrranis You know I don't even know the last time I used my Tatra Force, and Bandit I only used recently to complete a contest in Season 10. I've actually switched over to using big cranes a lot more these days. I've used the DAN a lot in Season 8, 9 and 10 with the big yellow crane. Even made some use of the Western Star with the double dead axle which I have the big red crane on. Tried to give the P12 the new Season 10 crane but so far results has been lacking luster. P12 is so weird. You set it up to haul long logs, it can actually do that job well. Try to do ANY other job with it, saddle high, nope. Fuel can, nope. New crane, nope. Like I may be mistaken but weren't logs supposed to be one of the heavier cargo's? Then why can the P12 actually handle logs, but run out of power and can't do literally any other job but just logs? But yeah even if not the most efficient way, there is just something I really like about the big cranes. I might also change my vote for worst highway truck to the HX 520 as well. I've been using the Kodiak as a car hauler (rollback) for when I wanna have fun (which is often) and not just lazier winch tow a vehicle behind the Tatarin (which is faster). Kodiak even lifted in surprisingly stable, it seems to have plenty of power (at least for rollback usage) and is actually quite capable offroad. Meanwhile every time I use the HX I feel disappointed, it feels like it really struggles offroad and gets stuck easier than most other trucks. The CAT's are good, the GMC's are good, White Western is always good, I've gotten a whole new appreciation for the Chevy. But the International is kinda just meh.

The worst part about many trucks especially the starter trucks is that they generally suck unless u hunt for there specific upgrades and if your unlucky the upgrade u want may not even be found on the same continent and thats just absurd game design even if it was added with a DLC. I love the game but when your best strategy is to scout rush every single unlocked map and region just to be able to make a truck good then your game progression is broken. The first truck u get the GMC MH9500 isent terrible, sure no1 expects it to be a mud monster but it can be made into a decent support truck if u want it to be. But only after u get its AWD upgrade which happen to be locked behind a DLC and can only be found in Russia. The very first cargo truck u get has its most important upgrade for it to be even usable hidden on the other side of the planet. Its not even close to a watchtower so unless u use something like Maprunner to find a specific upgrade u would have no ide where to even start to look for it. If u eventually were to find it once u reached Russia assuming u have the DLC to begin with u would have ditched that GMC long time ago so whats the point of even putting it there in the first place. Same goes for the Western Star 6900 TwinSteer. That truck can be decent without its AWD upgrade after u upgrade those tires ofc. But if u wanna keep using it past the starting region u need that AWD which is also found on a Russian DLC map and in a corner with no watchtower in range or any mission what so ever making u drive in range to se it. So again if u dont already know where it is good luck finding it without using Maprunner. Any truck found or designed to be used in 1 region should have there upgrades also found in that region even if they just happened to be behind a blocked tunnel or something. I would say engines would be an exception to this rule as so many trucks share those that it would be impossable to do that.

It's such a pain and only gets better over time as you unlock more equipment and tyres, especially for the trucks that takes a few levels. I also agree that it's a shame you have to scout different regions to have the necessary upgrades to finish the first one.

We thought that it's impossible to have worse Offroader than BM17, but dev did it through Tarta 805(which is bigger Don 71)
@tvctaswegia49711 ай бұрын
Solid choices. Kodiak has strongest engine at the start, but upgrades are harder to get than new trucks. For me, having the saddle low set _behind_ the rear axle is an idiotic design leading to a heavy load levering up the front making it leapfrog and lift the front wheels so you lose steering and crash. For scout Tatra 805 is worth considering. Longest range of all and can attach truck trailers.

The most underrated car of the game Scout 800. And once more a rating/opinion highly based on persons ability to drive instead of the car performance. Yes, Scout 800 is tippy and you need to be aware of that but after that it really wont roll over if you know what you are doing. Scout runs really well and handles good when you keep your speed under control. And you can do that cause the car works and goes where you want without pushing. Totally different than the entry Chevy. Scout is also so much better when pullong a trailer than Chevy. And then the biggest game changer the fuel economy. With one tank on Scout you can cover sooooo much area and that is what the scout cars are basicly for.

I’ve actually ran the cat telehandler in real life. The throttle response is terrible but it’s a handy piece of equipment
@Vlamyncksken Жыл бұрын
my girlfriend drives a ford focus and the throttle response is horrible compared to my 2005 z4. I always wondered why it was. Cost-cutting? Seems strange that, by your example, heavy trucks would suffer the same fate
@zackswigeart768 Жыл бұрын
@@Vlamyncksken well the diesel in the telehandler isn’t meant for highway driving, doesn’t have to be quick. Most construction equipment isn’t quick, they’re set up for low end grunt to help run the hydraulics for the boom. In reference to the focus and your Z4 horsepower and torque combined with the higher weight of the focus compared to your car is going to make a difference as well as different transmission and rear end gearing. Same reason 2 identical cars throttle response could be different say one truck is has 3.73 gears compared to 4.10 or 4.11 the wheels have to turn more times for the lower gearing than the higher gearing so the 3.73 rear end is going to feel like it gets going quicker than the 4.10 or 4.11 gears, then you’ve got the lag between drive by wire and drive by cable throttle bodies. There’s a lot that goes into throttle response but is what it is
@Vlamyncksken Жыл бұрын
@@zackswigeart768 great explanation! I didn't consider the fact construction vehicles are diesel-powered. It makes sense, though. Diesel engines make less rpm and thus horsepower, but more torque. I'm conflicted about the drive by wire vs cable throttle. I'd say an electric system would be more responsive, though a cable should react to the pedal immediately, as well. I have some old motorcycle which has a cable throttle and that thing has a huge deadzone because the cable isn't that tight. It creates a kind of off/on throttle response. But I digress. Again, great info
@zackswigeart768 Жыл бұрын
@@Vlamyncksken so I thought the same thing about being drive by wire but turns out there’s a lag between the throttle sensor and throttle body actuator which given how electricity and signals work it makes sense where as with a drive by cable set up the throttle cable is attached directly to the throttle and throttle body so any tension on the pedal is going to open up the butterfly valves in the throttle body. I know a guy that tunes race cars and street cars that explained it to me a while back.

Picks two best scout trucks and neither of them can tow scout trailers 🤦🏼♂️ I agree the scout is tippy, however also like it’s narrowness for completing to tasks finding locations, have also found it ascended inclines relatively easily. Load star for general scouting and scout for tasks with harder to reach reach places. It might rip at times but it is also easy to get back on its wheels Buts the great thing about the game is picking vehicles we like, enjoy driving and suit our play style

@Thy0ne Жыл бұрын
Honestly aside from a few comments I feel like a lot of people sleep on the azov 73210 to me I put this truck on the same level as the 605r because of its versatility and almost capable of going through any terrain because of it 10 wheels I have never used a truck more than the 73210 I have done logging, deliveries, and even hauled some of the big special trailers with almost no issues to me my number 1 would be the 73210 then 605r in close second just for the fact that the 605r can’t get stuck
@SebastianD334 Жыл бұрын
yeah, the main 2 problems with the 73210 are its low speed, and its low front, but the low front is also a big advantage, as it results in a very low center of mass. This truck is useful and simply does not care about terrain, as long as there's not a rock blocking its chin, besides that, the 3 axle steering also means it can still steer pretty well, even when the front axles are lifted off the ground

8:36 I'd disagree on BM17. It's bad on paper but in real action it's marvelous. I has a small turning radius so it can be utilised as a scout of sorts, it can climb incredible slopes at speed and it works better than it should. I then had better trucks but you can have a BM17 early and in that stage it's immaculate workhorse that helps you gain momentum in the game. For me, it's one of favorite trucks.
@Gehenna515 Жыл бұрын
I think that there is an important factor that you haven't taken into account here, which are upgrades. Many of the Russian scout vehicles without upgrades are absolutely useless, stalling and dropping gears on flat asphalted terrain. The Cat scout however is incredible! Take the arm off of it and you have easily one of the best scout vehicles in the entire game without needing any upgrades at all. Huge mud tires and a powerful engine allow the cat to do jobs that many trucks can't do, including pulling other trucks out of swamps etc. I used to hate the Cat TH because I tried to use it for loading, don't, it's awful, however as a scout vehicle it is genuinely one of the best along side the YAR and Tatarin.

The International Transtar 4070A is one of the best trucks. Most people don't use it at all because you know... it's old and small, has no AWD or difflock. But when you use it correctly, it is very capable and reliable. Sure, the cargo options are very limited, but for one or two slot cargos, it takes you almost everywhere fast. That said, it works best if you use a steering wheel and pedal setup. I use it often when I need to transport just that last bit of a bigger mission, that I couldn't fit on the big trucks. It's perfect for that. Just don't hook a trailer to it and try to haul that extra weight. Just... don't. :D
