We were planning on doing it on our list trip but ran out of time. Next time would definitely like to avoid some of the more popular spots and get into the wilderness a bit more.

Thank you for this excellent and very informative video of this beautiful area of England. I went for the first time a couple of years ago. I stayed in Patterdale, near Ullswater; I enjoyed lovely, warm and sunny September weather in such a pretty place. I also visited Bowness-on-Windermere (extremely busy with tourists), Ambleside and Keswick. All worth visiting.

I think being blessed with sunny weather really makes a difference when visiting the Lakes. While it’s easy to wrap up warm and go hiking, having clear views and being warm makes it 100 times better. I think to avoid the tourists you have to go to the western side of the Lake District. As this is further away from the motorways most people don’t tend to travel to this side of it. Absolutely love the Lakes , been visiting regularly for many years. Just a suggestion, Hardknott Pass down into Eskdale is quite a distance from the Struggle especially on those tiny mountain roads, and the lovely Blea Tarn featured is on the road down into Great Langdale. All beautiful parts but not quite as easy to get to as shown....in my opinion. Nevertheless great video.👏👏

Fun and very informative video to watch. I'm working out a trip to England and the Lakes District in 2025 which will also include the Bempton cliffs to see the puffins. I've never been to the Lakes district before. I've read 9 of the 12 books in the Swallow and Amazons series by Arthur Ransome during the pandemic and looking forward to seeing the Lakes District one of the areas of inspiration for some of his books. From what I've read Coniston and Windemere are some of the areas that inspired the author. I also want to see where Beatrix Potter lived. Some of the places in your video make me think of the Isle of Skye in Scotland a bit which my husband and I visited last year. Thanks for making this beautiful video. I can hardly wait to get there, I can never get enough of England. Greetings from Florida.

I just received a book I ordered from England called The Lost Rainforest of Britain by Guy Shrubsole that looks really interesting. There's a rainforest in the Lakes Region called Borrowdale I want to see. So many great places to see in England. I've made 3 trips to Norfolk, England where my Dad's ancestors lived back into the 1600s (5 generations in Necton), and a trip to Cornwall to see where Dad's other Grandfather lived. I need to start exploring the rest of England more now. Thanks again for the video.

TIP!! I would highly recommend joining national trust get single membership and the all their car parks (there is loads in lake district) is completely free

@worthytravels definitely we go for 2 weeks every year and worked out we got over a years worth of membership just on the parking. Plus it helps each place wheb you use your card, they get abit extra money

@steve00712 you’re so lucky to visit every year. If you haven’t been before would definitely recommend the New Forest if you want to add another National Park to your annual list. I don’t know if the National Trust still gives you a book of all the things you can use it for, but it would take you many years to get through everything! And you are absolutely right lots of little benefits that definitely make it even more worth while.

@worthytravels we love the lakes. We take our caravan up there kayaking on ullswater and as many walks as possible. Our little loves the water she's like a little otter. We do try other places but keep going back at and stay at Ullswater holiday park.

@steve00712 we would have loved to kayak or paddleboard when we were there, but unfortunately we caught some not so great weather - think that’s the story of the summer in the UK this year. If you have any other tips would love to hear them. We are hoping to get back there again next year.

@@MrCoxy38 hi! I’m American but I lived in England for 10 years (Adrian is English). I LOVE England and I consider it to be my home that we will return to in the very near future. The Lake District did surprise me though…in a very good way. It’s such a beautiful place and we can’t wait to go back.
