Morning Hypertension is common, so I now take mine at bedtime. BP now is much better in the morning and I think I sleep better because of it!

@@applejackband i take a diuretic for my bp and taking it at bedtime has me constantly getting up during the night to urinate. so now i take it in the morning on an empty stomach. works great, my bp is normal morning and evening.

I was told yrs ago, u much be relax went taking ur meds,4 them 2 work. That why it's great 2 take before going 2 sleep. U are going 2 be relax .💤💤😇!

YOU DON'T! The BOUNCE BACK high pressure will be worse and more difficult to get under control.

if it's becoming normal while ON the medication it means your BP will spike when you get off it. Let the meds do their job! The only way this is a concern is if your BP gets too low.

My niece is a cardiologist and best time to take blood pressure tablets is morning time .Hormones to wake up increase blood pressure and through your day. During sleep your blood pressure is naturally lower . Half an aspirin to make your blood less sticky helps

This maybe true for most people, but for me my BP readings were consistently higher in the evening for some reason, than morning. Go by whatever your BP readings are.

Tell your niece meds like beta blockers and ccb reach peak concentration in about 6 hours. So if you are taking the med in the morning when bp is rising naturally the meds have effect only at around noon! Whereas if you take it at night before going to sleep, considering you sleep for 7 - 8 hours the bp meds start having an effect an hour or two just before you wake up....exactly the time blood pressure starts rising naturally!

@@Vilgaxplayss It won't unless the dose is already too much for her. In that case giving the med during awake time is more dangerous. Imagine her bp falls suddenly on the road or in the washroom, she would crash immediately. The BP medicine given before sleep starts to have an effect only after around 6 hours, so that is around early morning 2 hours before waking up...exactly the time when Blood pressure starts rising naturally.

I would say take BP readings throughout the day for about week. Then adjust your time if necessary. For some reason my BP readings were always higher in the evening. Even dangerously high, before I went on medications.

The meds do not work instantly- it can take hours to reach peak effect. It seems reasonable that pills taken at bedtime would reach peak effect by the time you wake up in many cases.
