Thank you very much for this very usefull tutorial ! Many very important tips in here ! A tip which could be added to a future video, always use textures in sketchup never only "colors". When i discovered rendering softwares, i used to apply simple colors in my sketchup model, to separate the differents textures which i would replace with in the rendering software, in order to save time. But a rendering software alsway use the UV maps sets in the 3Dmodel software, so if we use simple "colors" in sketchup, which have specified and not easily visible UV pattern (or we need to check texture > modify on each face... boring), we will always get weird and annoying results in our rendering software when applying textures. So for people who like me want to full texture their project with the rendering software disponible textures, apply first basic texture in sketchup in order to be sure that every face has at least well oriented texture with coherent size/resolution. Hey! Quick question, I was using the m1 base MacBook to model, then I upgraded to the m3 max just a few days ago thinking I’d notice a big speed improvement cause the chip is so much faster. It didn’t seem to make that much of a difference when panning and orbiting my models. Do you know if it’s a SketchUp problem or what is causing the bottleneck by chance?

My tip is add some real life touches. A coffee cup and a couple of magazines on the coffee table, a jacket over a chair back for instance. Most renders look like that Twilight episode where the character runs through town and no one is around.

Lol - totally - it's always a good idea to go compare your render to a picture of a building or a space like the one you're rendering and asking..."What's missing?"

Hey Justin, i noticed you moving around in a very jerky mouse way and i recall you asking about the spacemouse a bunch of vids back and i recommended against the, at least, portable one. I got myself the full one and its a night and day difference. Since you rest your hand on the bottom of the full one, it never moves around and makes it very nice to use unlike the portable which isnt heavy enough to remain still and therefore always awkward.

HA - that's just how I navigate in 3D - probably a case of ADD hands or something 😂

Thats how EVERYONE does it with a standard mouse - me included... but if you want it smooth then the full 3d mouse may be a good option especially for your vids. Aaron talks about his a ton. skip the portable one though but any with the base under it should be fine. i rarely use the buttons on mine and i have that screen turned off. @@Thesketchupessentials
