When I got Robert Graham Fortitude I didn’t really give it a chance and just a few weeks ago I visited it again and now I really like tobacco scents. I just got a couple samples of red tobacco and I loved it. Even the opening smelled great to me.

@Fresh K Red Tobacco is a elite scent the irony is reviewers will say the want complex challenging scents then diss the opening of that scent.The fact is its only considered rough is because of the oud note.Which is funnily enough what sets it apart it makes it beautifully deeply woody and chocolately.Xx

Spicebomb Extreme is the one that got me into EDP's. I know fragrances have different levels of concentrate etc, but this particular bottle made me a believer in EDP's over EDT's for long work or traveling hours

Just saw more of your list - I'd put Spicebomb Extreme vs Tom Ford's TV any day of the week. In fact, that's what happened when I was at the store - I sniffed both of them and was like whoa, Spicebomb is way more dynamic AND cheaper?? Say no more!

Let's say an EDP has a concentration of 20% and an EDT has a concentration of 15%. That's a 25% difference in concentration. So if we assume you spray 5 sprays of the EDP, you can match the same amount of fragrance oil on your skin/clothes by spraying the EDT with 7 sprays. Do you think the longevity will be increased a lot by 2 additional sprays? Concentration is not always an indicator for performance. I can guarantee you that 1 spray of Black Afgano will last longer on your skin than 10 sprays of Bleu de Chanel Parfum. Both high concentration, but very different performance due to construction instead of concentration...

If anybody needs help getting The One to perform, try putting Kenneth Cole Bois D'Ambre underneath. Doesn't change the smell much but makes it last much longer. I wear them together every time.

I spray The One EDP five times when applying. Back of neck, left and right of neck, left and right wrist. Lasts me all work day on the rare time I wear it to work..and I have a seven minute walk to and from car to office. Thing is though, most of the time I wear it when going out at night. It's really a date night fragrance so it really doesn't have to last more than like five hours which it easily does for me.

It performs surprisingly well for me too - 6 or 7 sprays lasts all workday no problem, 8-9 hours. Must be a skin chemistry thing or something. I got it not too long ago and was ready to be a bit disappointed after hearing performance complaints, but was instead pleasantly surprised. Gotta love that. It's an S-tier fragrance in my book.

Finally a good fragrance topic. Oh my god is everyone reading off the same advice template? Like you really don't see too many original ideas anymore. Seems the tank dried right up. I hope not. Love me my tobacco scents. The One is the most amazing scent I think and it gets less props than it should. Tobacco is heavy note and any good fragrance where tobacco is prominent is usually automatically a performer.

my tobaccco vanille smells like spices and is definitely too sweet. can't smell tobacco at all. Completely different from what I smell the first time in Milan. It was a beautiful smell of a sweet cigar. Anyone knows if it's a batch issue? or maybe needs maceration? If so, where can I buy older batches of TV? The tobacco scent I use is “sex and cigarettes” by person of interest. It’s a small niche perfumer in Canada. I can tell you it is amazing if you like the tobacco scent and it’s a beast for longevity - 12 hours+ for me! It smells like tobacco, woody and a pinch sweet. I also love Burberry London which is very heavy on the tobacco. I’ve bought it a few times already.

I don't know of any then but you'll find them on fragantica if you search by notes and chose the notes like vanilla/tonka/honey which you don't want in the fragrance so it's not sweet Have you tried demeter tobacco, burberry london, nasomatto black afghano, chopard oud malaki, xerjoff don, banana republic black walnut, etc??

Herod for me is magical! I was amazed first time I smelled it at a store. That being said: I bought the discovery set from pdm last month and was super disappointed. Performance on my sample was like 1 hour! No joke! You can see many people complaining about it. Such a shame. I wouldn't mind the higher price, but that performance is unbearable :/
