My favourite part of the jam beginning with the tasty bends at 1:00 to the growly upstrokes @ 1:12, pure tonal magic. I keep imagining what it would sound like in a live concert. Between the vintage 62 Strat and the custom Yamaha Chris has assembled a formidable arsenal to complement his tonal mastery.

As always, fabulous and tasteful, musical playing. Nice Chris Izzac.This is one of my fave sites. Thank you so much. As I have written here before, I have a real ’62 SB Strat in all original condition, albeit a bit battered. Coincidently, I also have a Fender tweed Super, but the four-input one from 1957. The original Jenson 12s were already replaced with Celestions when I got it, but they sound great and will not likely blow out as the old Jensens did so often (which is why they were properly replaced). Is a ’62 Strat into a tweed Super a dream rig? Bloody well right. Cheers, mate.

I am the proud owner of an original 57 Tweed Deluxe 60 Tweed Champ and early 60 Super (Brown with tweed grill cloth and a the blue 10's found in the baseman's) A few original Blackfaces and Blondes too. I have some tweed re-issues and bunch of vintage 60's Marshalls. It took me some time to learn that the simpler the circuit the better. Like anything in life most folks are looking for easy solutions to difficult problems-ie how to be a real player. Add a wall of distortion and it hides all the sins. Imagine a death metal guy on the Super? Right. Anyway heavily distorted guitar is a nice trick but it gets tiring on the ears. The Tweeds are excellent amps but you can see why the BF were the evolution for Leo looking for cleaner sounds for country and even Jazz. We are lucky to live in a time where these have come back into vogue. Sadly we hear little of it as real music has been supplanted once again by commercial noise.

The way these amps break up is the sound of Rock and Roll. The dynamics of dialing them in, and back off the volume is a righteous thing. I have a 5e3 (Deluxe) clone a Celestion Blue, which also reacts the same way. There is very little headroom (starts to breakup around 3), but there is so much color, clarity and nuance with “how” you play. The sound is completely “Old School, familiar, dated”, but to my ears just how a guitar should sound.

When do you record an album playin like the first minutes of this clip? PLEASE DO IT SOON !!!!!!
@timwhite55623 жыл бұрын
God, I love it the tone when you're continuing to play even as the the volume is decaying almost out. I've started incorporating it into my playing. I normally set my rig so that when my guitar volume is at 5-6, it's at a level where if you play at 10 all the time, you'd have down at 7-8. Then my 7-8(ish) is what would be 10 for other players. So when I'm using vibrato on a long note or double stop, then I slide it up another position until it's almost died out before i slide up again. I'll shake it right to the point where the volume is all but gone, then slowly dial the volume up as I'm still shaking the note. I've only been doing it for a couple weeks, but everyone who's heard my play or have played with ALL comment on it immediately. I love discovering things like that; nothing that really is all that unusual, but still because it isn't something that everyone does, it sounds so original. Of course that applies more to people who aren't guitarist.
