I got the Amplitube 5 version in their latest group buy, and with lots of sig ad-packs for free. It is really good, and a lot of fun. The Custom 57 is one of my favourite, as well.

I just downloaded the cracked version and im just say it runs very well on Mac m1 Sonoma! I mean way better then the licensed one...I only got a copy so I can use it on a friends Mac and its not bad at all compared to OTHER CRACKED SOFTWARE SIMS>>!!

Great video thank for this. The stock presets of Amplitube 5 aren't really up to par, but with some fiddling you can get Amplitube 5 to sound fucking awesome. Also you have an excellent control in your playing; impressive bro! Great song too; love the riffs.

Yea I tried finding a clean jazzy tone, but they all sounded week and thin and too clean, ended up having to create my own, the only presets I use are preset I’ve created from scratch or edited heavily from the stock preset I used

@@dulla8469 Yeah it's so worth it to dig in and really get comfortable with Amplitube, because you can get really really good, professional tones if you work a bit with it. There are more expensive amp simulators that sound great out of the package just using stock presets, but their limitations hide behind that originally awesome first impression. Amplitube offers so much more once you get good at dialing it in.

@@dulla8469 What did you use in the end. I too spent a long time looking for a true 50s/60s jazz tone for my archtop. Of all things I ended up with the Brian May AC30 on vol 3. It's one of the most transparent amps for clean sounds in the app.

I just got this, and man it's pretty good. I've got the petrucci nueral dsp and I think for heavier stuff nueral sounds a bit better, But this is very extensive. It cover all basis. What an awsome time to be a guitarist.

Honestly I love both. Petrucci does a bit better on the low end with 7 strings, but Amplitube can get you some absolutely NASTY tones with the right boosts and amp combos

If you have a guitar amp with an effects loop use that. Signal chain should be guitar > interface device > effects loop return/power amp in. I was using a pair of Yamaha HS7 studio monitors and I never liked it. I now run into the effects loop of my 100w tube amp head powering a 4x12 cab with greenbacks and it rocks. Monitors suck as direct output from Amplitube.

@@artheriford Do you really like the amp? I see there is a 1x12 combo version that has an effects loop it might be worth spending a few $$ if you can. Though it's worth looking into which side of the effects loop the master volume sits, I have another amp where the master doesn't control the effects loop volume so basically when I ran amplitube it ran full volume. I found out the hard way... Had to set all my presets to -50 db output.

@@matthewrobinson5511 I do. It’s 1 watt switchable to 6. I live in a townhouse so it is plenty loud. It may just be a matter of tinkering with the software and the amp more to get a better result. Initially, I was using an Electroharmonics 5 watt power amp pedal into a speaker cabinet. I could never dial that in. It was just loud. Completely washed all the tone out

@@maximiliangfrorer1039 thanks, good advice, but here is my problem: what is the right input gain for amplitube? in th-u, for instance, the instructions are set it so you stay on the yellow when you strum the hardest. on the other hand, it seems to react well to -18 dbfs rms, which is significantly lower. amplitube seems to take that the best, too. but no matter what i do, i can't shake a bloated, muddy sound that is impossible to eq. that's the bane of my life. how do you set your input? p.s. - i can't stand new strings 😝. i mean i don't necessarily like them old and rusty, but usually i take them out of the bag about a week before i install them. new ones sound just too shrill for me.

You get "Amplitube 5" not "Amplitube 5 MAX v2". It's a little confusing but you should be able to upgrade to MAX v2 if you'd like

You’ll need an audio interface that has a Hi-Z input (DI basically) and then you’re good to go! The Focusrite Scarlett interfaces are a good place to start.

I have the free ampli 5 and is very useful. I use the BritSilver and 5150 amps to record with. I have not looked at yet a foot controller to turn pedals on or off during recording. Or to manually initiate them at certain bars.

If you use different outlets you could be just getting a ground loop. If you have a hum, even when you touch your guitar, get it grounded properly. Try another room if nothing helps. And remember different lights, and devices wireless or not have the possibility to produce noise. So eliminate a part of the chain, until found. Or start with just computer, interface and guitar. Hold the guitar and walk around the room with the intent to hear a change in the noise. Try another guitar, or invite someone with another guitar over, and see what it sounds like. There are many ways to remove all that noise/hum. Line conditioners, and check out Ebtech... ;)

I had this with P90's. I stuck a noise gate in then dialed the volume knob down on my Gretsch as well as playing with the noisegate. Don't know if that helps.

Related to the "Ambient tweed goodness" I' wold ask if this is the standard "AMBIENT BLUES LEAD" patch or it is a modded version. I've tried it but it sounds harsh and fizzy..tried with humbuckers and single coil guitar...but nothing change....your tone is fat and beefy...mine is thin and sterile...may I ask you what audio interface are you using and at what sample rate? Thanks a lot

Many cut the highs and lows since not needed. Try cutting around 7KHz to 8 KHz on the highs, and lows to around 80Hz to 100Hz if low mud or woofy/boomy. That's a better starting point than allowing all frequencies. I'm surprised many of the plugin manufactures don't already do this. Then find the frequency cut or boost for the mids to nail your tone.

I've been trying to get some good sounds out of Amplitube 5 but they seem flat and I can't seem to get that sound in my head. I decided to play around with some plugins included with protools. The SansAmp PSA-1 blew me away. Along with some of the pedal plugins that free amp plugin is amazing. I can get pretty much any sound with the preamp and then using virtual pedal plugins and reverb, delay, and chorus I'm getting amazing sounds I couldn't get with Amplitube.

Thats cool i gotta try that one out. And yeah honestly thats the bad and good thing about Amplitube, it has so much potential for THOUSANDS of amazing tones. BUT, it can be distracting with so much tweakiness that I personally get lost in the sauce. Tweaking so many things. Sometimes the the best approach for me is the conventional. Use a good popular amp, don’t tweak anything crazy, find a good cab, mic positioning, and pre post EQ (eq is suuuper important imo). But yeah A5 can get TOO immersive.

My Amplitube5 doesn't sound anything like yours, you are sitting right in front of the computer and speakers/monitors and no noise.. Mine sounds horribly noisy. I am using a 50s tele and 60s strat. Have you put a noise gate on everything?

Does that Music Man have noiseless single coils? Willing to bet you’re just hearing 60 cycle hum and beyond that just ensure that your phone is somewhere else as that can cause interference, too. Also, try facing away from the screen.

Could be the hum but this is nothing against IKM but all of the plugin amps I have tried have the noise and all the videos I have watched of people playing through software amps all sound really good, clean and punchy. And a lot of them are facing their screens or right by it. Not many of them are playing 50s or 60s guitars but could it really make that much difference. I am on a mission to sort this out! :)

No it doesn't sound like shit at all. Lesson number 1 though, don't rely on the out-of-the-box presets in Amplitube 5. It can deliver in really good sounds, but you have to get down and dirty and do the work to get those sounds, and make your own presets. I don't know if IKMultimedia spent more than two minutes on each of the stock presets, but they certainly don't represent the tone you can get out of this thing.
