A small awning on the rear of the truck for shade and protection from the elements would be the perfect final addition!

I am a welder/fabricator. I built my ExpeditionVehicle in 2003... and it is constantly evolving. Early-November 2020, I modified the hitch and added a screen step. My advice after full-time live-aboard for nearly two decades: * learn from your rig. Avoid believing your latest iteration is 'The Final Best'.

Lol Great video! I would prefer a double-swing out arm, though. It'll distribute the weight a little better and it'll be easier to open the tailgate in tighter spaces

The tailgate company is in Clovis California, just outside the Sierra national forest, Yosemite and Sequoia - kings canyon national parks. So place an order, pick it up and drive right up to the mountains.....

This is what iv been searching for. A swing out just like this. Iv figured id have to build my own. But ill have to check them out now. I have also been a big fan of the slide out kitchens. So i wanted to have a swing out like this AND a slide out on the other side for massive kitchen and storage space and a smaller in the trunk accessible dometic that slides out with the cooking station for easy cooking, camping and in trunk use. Having a jerry can mounted on the swing out would be great for a pop out camping sink. And i like the idea of not having to carry so many propane tanks around. Having a large one mounted on the swing out. The rear cover slide out thing is so impressive! Now im rethinking my whole build! I could incorporate this slide out, AND a low profile exterior slide out. With support legs built under the 2nd slide out for support. And so i can use the low profile slide out as a bed frame also when closing up for the night. WITH this type of swing out! Much more storage, much more kitchen space and much more sleeping space! And still have the other side of the truck bed for more storage, batteries, and a much smaller kitchen with a jet boil for in trunk use. That would make for so much more foot room also. Honestly, i could mount a tv, laptop or tablet stand with a charging station in the corner closer to the cab too. However, iv always wanted a cut out to the cab incase i ever needed to crawl back and fourth. Good for animals to use too and great for stealth camping when needed. Dual cab with a large dometic on one side, likely long term storage on the floorboards and clear space for a crawl through and probably a built in sliding door for insulation in more extreme weather. And a nice thick insulated fabric to hang behind of the front seats for temperature regulation and privacy. Some dual fans installed with a raised storage rack, solar panel and a nice wrap around canvas. And possibly another canvas on the other side or a large PVC pipe with spare water that i can pressurize with an air tank and use as a shower or if i need to rinse something off. Man id be set

Coleman makes a utensil rack that sits on the back wall/lid.....Holds a LOT & breaks down to zip space....We have looped some guy rope & also accommodate a roll of paper towels....Frees up a LOT of work space....Give it a look....Will work for all similar stoves....

That is WAY better than the double swing-out I saw on another channel. That drop-down table is GOLD. Makes for one less thing to be hauled. Almost wonder if the spare carrier could be moved to the right enough to make room for a 20lb propane tank and still have two 5gal Jerry cans. 🧐

Nice bed extension for sleeping. The one piece swing out is a little heavy on one side. I would be more of a fan for a split swingout. Especially after mounting the spare. That’s just a ton of weight on the one side. Still works almost the same for a cook station.

I’m not sure if this helps anyone but my Tacoma’s got a C4 Fabrication swing out bumper and although it’s cool and definitely helps protect the truck, it’s super inconvenient for daily use. So if you are opening the tailgate daily I highly suggest not getting a swing out.

Awesome, I wouldn't have the Jerry can of fuel. I'd have water in 1 and portable shower unit in the other that way you can wash or spray down the kitchen after use and the fuel ain't gonna be near your kitchen.

I have been struggling to find a sweet bumper like that for my f350 2010 but in addition I would like go with a custom hitch basket that would fold out with the weight of a dirt bike as well
