The Best Trading TimeFrames Strategy | Forex Guide on Top-Down Analysis

In this video, I will give you a little guide on timeframe utilization. The best tip to take out from this video is that you need to give each timeframe a role. Use the 3-step approach that I provide you with and always make sure to be aware of the current position of the market. Market structure is key when using this approach, so make sure to practice identifying it.

Wow we trade very similar🤯. The 5min 3min entry TF are very nice sniper entry TF's. Ive noticed that following the 1hr/30m market structure is the best to follow, up to the point of the 4hr levels. Ive only been trading for 7 months and seeing an experience trader trade very similar to my way shows that i have improved alot🤩

Absoutely!! It all depends on the timeframe you pick as your higher one. The market has a fractal nature - all the formations will repeat themselves on each timeframe. You just have to test what works for you. Keep pushing brother!!

@@TradingFanatic i tend to look more at the 1hr/30m and sometimes 15m as my mid timeframe, and then 90% of the time i enter in the 5min/3min engulfing candles. and 4hr is my directional tf. Earlier i took a breakeven short position on Gbpusd bcuz 1hr/30 m is in a downtrend, I had a fib golden zone, and price was at resistance 5min tf gave me a nice engulfing candle, but price created a higher low, luckily had stops to breakeven by then.

Hey Andrew! I like Wyckoff, but it's rather complicated and hard to spot. What I would advise you is to look into it, but don't take it too seriously. What I like is the psychology behind! It's like an accumulation schematic before the market reverses. So you will always have the spring and the UTAD (the final manipulative move). So when the price gets into a strong 4H level, you can start observing how price is reacting to that level. But yes, if you don't resonate with that approach, there is no need to look into it bro. It doesn't matter that people are looking into it. Stay in your lane.

I determine the trend on the 4hr and mark areas of value on the 1hr let’s me know if we going up or down 15 minute entry. I don’t rely look at the 15 minute unless I’m ready to enter. That is exactly what you should be doing, Luis! Although it's possible to trade 1 timeframe only, it is very important to trade with the overall direction and depetermine areas of value. That's it!!!

What timeframe should u be marking your supply and demand and or support and resistance lines on for a intraday trader

It doesn't matter if you are intraday/scalp/swing. You should always be aware of all the HTF areas. I am daytrading, but I always start my analysis from the Weekly timeframe. W1,D1,4H,1H. Those are the zones i'd recommend you pay attention to and then look for entry models from them.

You are welcome! Well, I'd say use the 1hour for your direction, 15M for behavior and confirmation and then execution on 1M. That's what I'd do.

Such an informative content . But ,what is the difference between a top down analysis done from the H4 directly to the 15m and the one done from the H4 to H1 to 15m . because I have noticed that most trader applying the H4 to 15m tend to zoom out their chart . Do zooming out help them see relevant internal structures relative to the H4 swing?

Well, you keep adding more complexity to your charts. Instead of using a Macro and Minor Timeframe (4H to 15M), You have one in-between. Then, the levels on the 1H will differ from your 4H and 15M and you will get confused. Keep it simple. HTF - Middle TF - Entry Timeframe. That's it... Understood. What if no micro structure appear on the 15m rather,an enlarged picture of the H1 trend (cases of short-term H1 correction ) can I still consider such enlarged picture the 15m trend ? I used to use the 14EMA, as I was applying a trend following strategy with it back in the days. It worked great with the 15M. But now - I am solely clean charts and market structure. No indicators at all...

Thank you so much, Ray! I am super happy to hear this! I use the 14EMA. It's a big part of my 2.0 strategy that I use for continuation trading. I use it for entry confluence mainly with a set of rules. It helps me identify when the market is in a pullback and when the pullback is over, so I can execute with accuracy and reduce the risk of getting stopped out if the pullback is not over.

Hello Iliya! You have the best content for beginners! I only have one question. If I start from 4h and find the pinbar on the pullback level then should I wait for the confirmation candle also from 4h or I can start looking at rejection candles from the 1h timeframe?

Hey Jenek! Thank you so much for the kind words and your email as well! Once you think that the 4H pullback is complete, which usually can happen after a pinbar as you said, you are free to drop to a lower timeframe and start monitoring for more signs that the pullback is complete. This can be dropping to the 1H or 15M and waiting for momentum and shifts in structure. So yes - you can do that!!
