+William Christman I completed my first one, a sprint triathlon, and I was really pleased with the good sportsmanship that everyone showed. People were there to encourage and support throughout the day. I say do a little search on a training plan and DO IT! Good luck, and have fun.....

In just over a week I have my first triathlon (Olympic) and I’m super excited. I’m far from good at any of the three disciplines but the fact that I couldn’t run 1 mile 4 months ago and now I’m going to complete makes me super happy! I never use to enjoy sports and now I’m completely hooked! Next summer I’m shooting for a 70.3

used to be a long distance runner when back in my student's year in uni, then got married, and gain 30kg. after watching this video last year, i was determined to get back my previous life and stamina like the good old days. it was 28 August 2020, that day i decide to change my life. and 1 years later, shedd off lots of weight, came back to be a long distance runner. even managed to finish half marathon in December 2020 (3 months later after i decide to back to track). Nowadays, my cumulative mileage per month is 100-150km. thanks for this video.

As a person that is practicing this sport since November 2014, it's a shame for me to see al the idiotic comments under here. Give it a few more years, it's a great sport, but not everyone has the willing to keep trying and racing against yourself; because that's what this sport is meant for: cross your own limits, traing after training.

But at the beginning the hardest fight is against your motivation...

I love this sport, to bad im to poor to afford swimming training all year around , gear, kit and a 3k tri bike. So im sticking to ultrarunning for now. :/

It's a fantastic sport. Biggest contender is yourself. Try to beat yourself time after time, training after training. Not giving up. Love it.
@Lowieken737 жыл бұрын
You don't need a 3K tri bike, and most pools won't cost you all that much to swim all year round. You can go up to half distance with a normal bike ... even the full distance but you won't be going for the gold. To me getting to the finish of an iron man is my goal ... just building up now.

I cried when i qualified in 2013. I was a 280 lb fat man in 1998. I started tri in 1999. just toiled along and got better with age. When I found out I qualified I called my wife crying saying "remember that fat guy? Well he just made Team Canada" I've gone onto 4 worlds and in 2019 in Lausanne finished 66th in my age group. In 2018 I made Ironman All world triathlete. Finishing in the top 2% in my age group in the world. Top 1% are gold top 5% silver...just missed gold.Point being. If I can do it. Anyone can do it! Self discipline. Strive to be better everyday! You got this Micha!

@pooky262610 жыл бұрын
Sébastien Curnier Over the 5 days there were several races. Some were draft legal. Men's and Womens pros and the Jr's were draft legal. The bike course was 6 laps for the pros. The Age group world's were not draft legal and was a two lap bike course. P.S. I made the Canadian team for 2015 and get to do this again in Chicago next year.

@ChoppaMate8 жыл бұрын

@rubytroy8 жыл бұрын
+Mrproto "Ironman" is a branded triathlon. Think in terms of the company putting on the race. Triathlons can be a sprint (shorter distances for each of the three sports), 70.3, 140.6 miles.
