This is the individual release of the Sandstorm review I made for my big compilation video. There are a few audio tweaks and new clips to make the video worth releasing separately.
I had a hard time writing this video originally, as I always seem to do. Sometimes I write something and I feel like I don't know how appropriately describe a thought I'm having about a figure.
This always frustrates me, because it feels like something worse than writer's block. It feels like a failing on my part as a writer, where every script I write feels like I'm solving a puzzle made up of my own opinions.
My frustration lead to me focusing on Magmatron when I got him in the mail, and I was rather effortlessly able to put together that video pretty quickly after.
Then I suddenly had the idea for the compilation video, and I knew I had to do something special for it. And once I looked back at the Sandstorm script I had already written, I realized I only had a few tweaks to make to bring the script up to a standard that I was happy with.
Sometimes time really does help sort out your thoughts, but I'm still working on new stratgies to be consistently creative, with fewer stumbling blocks.

After carefully massaging his chest into place and letting it sit for a night, the chest on mine magically holds much better. Also, if you plug his little pistol in one of the holes on the upper backpack you can use it as a kind of clip to hold the cage on his back (grey plate facing his back). I think it holds well enough and is aesthetically pleasing to boot. The winch can be stored on one of those sneaky ports on the back of his ankles (where the screws are), or in/on the cage.

I love this toy. As for the chest I learned from Tfwiki that it was actually the double hinge that the car roof and windshield use to move about. For some reason it is too thick. I had to pop the flip up panel out of the chest to get my dremel in there and now it works fine. Hopefully the reissue corrects this.

@@Gei4Mei I hate when figures are flawed but I have few qualms taking things apart and putting them back together. Many of my TF friends say I am not happy with anything until I have modded or customized something minutes after they are opened up.

some of my biggest problems with this toy, are the hands sculpted like its giving a middle finger, that gray plastic that STILL has been yellowing, and those propellers. I thought about saying yes or no to this for 4 months. Till i gave in so just i can have my main headmasters triple-changers. He is good, no doubt, for what i can see in reviews for now. And there is a lot i do love in him, but i will mostly have him in dune buggy mode then helicopter cause those propellers are just ugly and stupid. love the head. Adore the head. I'd blow that head.

@@kevinp.h157 There was a Generations Sandstorm made from the Thrilling 30 Springer so he's had 3 toys. And regardless of is season 3 sucked; cartoon accuracy is better than toy accuracy as it's the cartoon that actually has characters to be invested in. There's also comics but good luck getting toys of those designs with any frequency.

They don’t get that we haven’t had many big leaders since PoTP and conveniently forget that the old leaders starting with T30 were bigger at the expense of complexity. We’d had a few years to get used to the idea that Leader Class isn’t a size class but a price point. The big chunky figures from before DToM people love to go on about were a Unicron Trilogy/Movie concept meant to accommodate the gimmicks and pass safety standards. If you look at Beast Wars, Beast Machines and RiD/Car Robots figures, they were smaller than the figures made in the same size classes from UT to 2011. Classics and Universe 2.0 figures were made as they were because UT’s design philosophy was the standard before N.E.S.T RoTF, RTS and HFTD started to change that philosophy going into the original Generations. Maybe if we still had Ultra Class, Sandstorm would be a better fit but that’s how it is.
