Like your gun content, but man, if a person is poor saving up to move out of a bad neighborhood isn't always possible. That said, you touched on the DB9 G4 being a light duty gun for obvious reasons, I'd love to see a long-term ammo count for how long it can go before any parts breakage - with proper maintenance of course (lube/clean/RSA replacements etc).

Might have to get one myself. The snappiness can be solved by just using lower grainage ammo like Underwood Extreme Defenders and Civil Liberty HP’s. Norma NXD’s would be a good budget option, which I recommend checking them out if you haven’t since they’re a cheaper version of Extreme Defenders

@I’m pretty sure it would, a lot of people overestimate how far beneath the skin the heart and lungs are. Average distance from the skin to your heart, for men, is 30 millimeters. That’s not even 2 inches. I bought a Kel-Tec PF9 back in 2010, right before Diamondback released their contender. My Kellie has never given me an issue; its only malfunction was induced by an ejected case falling back into the port during a string of rapid fire (yes, I saw it happen.) As rude in hand as the flyweight Kel-Tec is, I decided that it's as small as I'd want to go in a 9mm Luger pistol. It's like high-fiving a hammer.

I have the Gen 4 and the zero carry holster which doesn't print at all. My only complaint is that it's snappy so I wouldn't shoot +p on it. I don't understand Diamondback. They could make this pistol significantly more viable with one simple change -- offer a longer magazine. Ditch the hollow pinky extension in favor of a solid baseplate with an additional two rounds. The gun wouldn't be any larger but 8+1 is a big advantage over 6+1.

Imagine this gun in 30 super carry with a custom 10 round stack and a half flush mag that would be much thinner than the s&w 30sc shield mag and a grip that would fit, And extended spares, And an optic cut for the shield, even thinner ones are probably coming, But just a stack and a half 30sc mag and the gun would be pretty much the same size,

Just an FYI I live in an area where it's hit or miss when looking for some brands of firearms (ie: Keltec, Stoeger). Recently, while at one of my local go to stores (Idaho based employee owned chain) I asked if firearms not available could be ordered. The response was dependent on what the suppliers they buy from have in stock.

I love mine, but i have to watch my grip. I ride high and get bit which leads to failures, but that's all my fault! Not the pistols. I have the Gen 4 and it has been 100% reliable, but after 50 rounds, 2 of the pins started walking out towards the right side. I pushed them back in, and put a drop of black fingernail polish on them, and so far so good. It will beat the heck out of your hand, and after 50 rounds my trigger finger was really sore. I have tried sanding on the edges of the trigger with really fine sandpaper hoping it will be easier on the finger. I have the DB380 also, it was total junk, constant failure to feed issues. I put it up in my safe for a year or so, got it out one day, and said. I'm gonna fix it out destroy it. Went to work on the feed ramp, and barrel edge, then polished it back up. To my amazement, it runs perfect now. It's easier to pocket carry, and much more forgiving to the hand and finger. I gave 179.00 plus tax for the DB9, for that price, i couldn't resist. I carry both of mine in a Sticky holster. Fits great.

How do you polish the ramp and barrel edge
@garylittle89858 сағат бұрын
@chrissalmon3503 I used my dremel at a slow speed with a fine grit stone, being very careful to not take off much metal, just round any sharp edge, then used a cloth type polisher in the dremel, and used metal polish to finish it back to a smooth mirror finish.

Probably an older generation because the new one has been perfected, I own it and it's a great little gun with zero issues. I always wait a couple years before I purchase a new firearm that just came out on the market. But I have had no issues with my DB9 Gen 4.

Makes about the perfect ultralite hiking/backpacking gun, unless you need grizzly protection...
@wonder6oy409Күн бұрын
Ironically, I actually saw somewhere this gun in particular being recommended against bears.
@curly__3Күн бұрын
@wonder6oy409 ...excellent gun for defense against Black bears, particularly in a tent at point blank. It would work on most grizzlies if the aim is very good and hard cast or full metal jacket loads are used but it is far from ideal against a grizzly. The danger a grizzly poses leads a lot of people in serious brown bear/grizzly country to actually carry two handguns or even a long gun and a handgun, even when backpacking and this would be a good backup option to a larger gun for those big bears. Generally, black bears on the trail can be scared off , and if not they can be pepper sprayed, but it is a very good idea to have a gun to backup the spray, just in case, but more importantly, to have a gun in the tent at night where many black bear (and grizzly) attacks occur and you cannot safely use the spray. Another good ultralite backpacking option is a good ultralite 38 special +p snub nose revolver (≈2-3 inch barrel). There are premium ammo companies that make some very good hard cast bear loads that are either regular pressure or +p in most handgun calibers. I recommend at least a 9mm or 38 special +p for black bears (though a 380acp with good ammo is better than nothing) and i recommend a minimum of 10mm or 357 mag, 40 s&w or 45 auto for grizzlys as your primary weapon. Just remember that the key to success with these small guns on such large animals is accuracy and understanding the animal's anatomy. I also recommend carrying a good size camp knife with a ≈ 5 - 7 inch blade as the ultimate last resort, particularly if you are going somewhere where bear problems are known. I usually carry a glock brand knife, it is light and affordable and extremely tough. Hope that helps.

It's in the nicer neighborhoods where criminals go to steal. Living in a nice neighborhood doesn't guarantee your safety that's why it's a good idea to carry at all times even in the house.. i too own the diamondback DB9 Gen 4 and it's an awesome little pistol that just works. I also own the diamondback AM2-9mm which in my opinion is the most underrated pistol on the market, also one of the best pistols nobody knows about. SPN needs to purchase an AM2 9 MM to ADD TO HIS DIAMONDBACK COLLECTION. Go on buds guns and check out the reviews on people who purchased the AM2 9mm it has five stars because it's an awesome firearm.

It’s a whole different firearm… so if one person has a bad Glock you can’t trust the next Glock?
