You're correct on many levels ...the best "All Around" rifle is the Lee En #4 .... however, to me it comes down to 3 rifles depending on what you want to do. The 1903, Lee #4 and the DL Carbine . For distance ...the 1903, All Around ...Lee #4 and for mid to close quarters the DL Carbine. The Carbine is a Lil mighty mite ... it is quieter than most suppressed pistols (only 11m) yet can reach greater distance accurately also it's the only rifle that is suppressed that you can attach a bayonet to. Great for those stronger enemy take downs. All 3 of these are my "go to" rifles depending on mission . Many times I'll switch these 3 rifles around at the workbenches during a mission depending where I am in a map.

Lee Enfield and The Winchester are my favorites and if I feel like going ghost status and lurking around I’ll use DL carbine with extended suppressor barrell and the bayonet. Standard rifles Springfield followed by KAR98 but Lee Enfield has the range, MV, with the right suppression it’s 2nd only to the DL carbine and it’s good enough damage to be just in the 2nd tier

When you play on authentic mode bullet drop does become important. Aiming becomes really challenging even on just 100 m and when there is a slight wind blowing it become even tougher. When playing with that red assisting indicator, aiming stability and bullet drop does not matter

Depends, IMHO nothing beats the 1903 with the stargauge barrel, Moore 1 surpressor, small over pressure mag, leather pad, match bolt, with laminate beech. 1130 M/s vs the Lee's very weak 835 m/s. I do like the M84 on both builds but the 1903 has a 16X option. If playing with no assist (empty lung) the 1903 kills it.

I have used Lee no4 a lot in single player mode. Very good rifle. It's good for any kind of combat. I'm playing with it in multiplayer games and it's one of the best for me.👍 It depends how you play. Multiplayer games are totally different from the story mode gameplay. Good video 👍

im am only playing SP and at the start i played the Springfield. But its gunsounds and reload sound was not great. So i desided to switch to the kar98 (like every SE :D). But i was not sure about it. And so i tested a bit and the Lee Enfield looks bad for sniping at the first time. But when you look closer you see that it has the best or one of the best stats for bolt action sniper. High effective range, highest with Springfield. Damage between Springfield and Kar98. High Stability and best shot image of all real snipers. reload, Aiming, etc does not matter if you play as bolt action sniper in stealth instead of arcade gunplay on close distance.The only bad thing is, that the scope is x11 and not x12 or x14 like others. But x11 is not so bad at all. How often do you shoot over 600m?

Shooting at long distance targets, over 300-400 meters is quite rare in the game. A very high zoom scope is not necessary all the time. But also you can change the attachments, (i.e. the scope or else) in workshops, during the mission. In this way you can customize the weapon for your desired tactics even after starting the mission.

@@SmotusGaming The ironic side is, that the Lee Enfield never was a great sniper rifle. Because it was designed for Infantry and special commands. The british sniper doctrin was, to go as near as you can ans shoot. So the Enfield never had to be as accurate as the other snipers. Americans, germans and russians were shooting over long distances. But ironical the close combat doctrine sniper is the best over all sniper, especially over large distances. But in SE3 and 4 (do not know 1 and 2) the balance was also not historical. I would wish me here a bit more historical correctness. The problem with this is, that then the M1903 is no more the best weapon.. the kar98 would be. And this is a german weapon... no way for american bias ;) In SE4 i liked the swedish mauser. But the sound of the kar98 was better. In SE5 the M1903 Springfields reload sounds rickety. And i do not understand that the longer barrel versions are not more accurate or stabil than the short variant. From the physics: if the bullet is a longer time in the barrel it gets more speed from the pressure and is more accurate. But in SE5 the most accurate M1903 is the short barrel.

@@SmotusGaming A question. After training a bit in the shooting range and with 300m aim with the kar98 and 400m with the M1903 and Lee Enfield on a target 1.000m away i was a bit surprised. The kar98 with 300m scope x12 could aim and hit the target easy. The M1903 and Lee Enfield not. I think the reason is, that the higher muzzle velocity decreases the angle so much, that a x12 scope with 300m could aim a 1.000m target, the x11 and x16 scops with 400m from the enfield and Springfield could not. I used standard ammo. I do not know how the scope is on these guns by rote, but it seems that the -200m effective range can be negeted by the higher damage and muzzle velocity. So i think except the noise with the Lee Enfield, the kar98 outperform them all. Also the gun controll-stats for stability and shot image? is better than the Springfield. In my opinion the best stats of a rifle is damage, accuracy and stability and then scope. Recoil, shots per minute, aimspeed, etc does not matter. I currently see no reason why the Springfield is better? At least for my playstyle... silent, distant and than meele. I never try to get in a situation were i had to use the SMG or need the faster mag or shots per minute. Either i use the rifle or the pistol and knife.

Yes you need season pass 1 or 2. In one of them you will get Lee no.4 as a weapon pack.
