WKRP was my favorite 70's TV show Larry and that's about it for me,I liked Some Mothers Do Have Them,a British TV show and my parents watched the Rockford Files which was good,Matlock,Quincy, those kind of shows but I never really watched a lot of TV in the seventies because I was playing every night in the band, just bits and pieces and believe it or not although it was a great show I never watched MASH until it was off the air,I did watch the Midnight Special when I could because it was on so late and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and yes Fernwood Tonight was great,it seems that a lot of the shows I liked weren't around long and of course being Canadian and a hockey fan I watched the Leafs and I still do and yes I'm still hoping,go Leafs go! ‘Fawlty Towers’ with John Cleese is considered a classic here in the UK. Definitely worth checking out. The dvds are not expensive. Only 12 episodes ever done.

We also had it in Australia. Possibly my favourite - very well written. I remember John Cleese doing a series of tv commercials in Australia for a real estate agent playing a Basil type character. Ripping Yarns was also great.

The 9 first years of my life was the 70s! Just counting the top 100 shows, there were only 26 of them I didn't watch as a kid: 6, 10, 18, 24, 28, 48, 52, 56, 64, 71, 72, 73, 77, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 90, 91, 93, 95, 97, 98 and 99!

I really enjoyed "WKRP In Cincinnati" because it was about music. I liked it even more in syndication in the mid '80's, when I was more into music. I would always get a kick out of identifying the album covers featured on the walls. This, "Battlestar Galactica", "The Muppet Show" and "Three's Company" were my favorite '70's shows back then. But, I was very young. I wouldn't have appreciated the more sophisticated, dramatic shows.

There were many, many great tv shows in the 70's but my favorite has to be Three's Company

That was an enjoyable run through some great programs. Funny enough, being in the UK so many of those shows were really popular here back in the day even after allowing were so often American. There was always that kind of mystique about a US show and still is in fairness. All the best. Dave✅✅

One more note: The NBC Mystery Movie was the program that alternated between McMillan and Wife, McCloud and Columbo every week, so having each of those shows on this list is a bit redundant considering the fact that the umbrella title program is listed here as well.

In Bedrock...Twist Twist😁..Remember the episode with Ann-Margrock...loved The Flinstones. There was a show called Family with Kristy Mcnichol that we would watch every week. Didn't see that one mentioned.

The Bob Newhart Show was a great ensemble sitcom. It had so many funny characters. Bob was put into so many awkward situations. It’s worth a watch.

Some of the 70s teevee shows I watched were Mary Tyler More and one of its spin-offs, Lou Grant, The Waltons, M*A*S*H, the early years of All In the Family, Emergency!. I'm somewhat surprised that there wasn't any domestic Canadian content on that list, but in the 70s Canadian television was still behind American production on several levels. For a while, from 1973 to 1985, the NHL's Flyers and the Islanders held me captive to NHL rules hockey, six Stanley Cups - 2 for the Flyers and the record of four in a row for the Islanders. Then I saw one too many fights and goodbye NHL rules hockey.

Yes, I was a big fan of the Maple Leafs from 1972 to the mid 90's, until Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour left the team.

So many great shows back then.. I watched nearly all of these shows.. Throw in The Honeymooners re-runs and I was in heaven.. It was from the 1950's and use to be before The Odd Couple re-runs.. Awesome.. )^_-)/

Since I was 3 at the start of the 70s and 13 when they ended, I definitely watched stuff like the cartoons and ‘younger audience’ shows…Sesame Street, Super Friends, Bionic Woman, The Incredible Hulk. My dad watched Hee Haw, my mom watched The Lawrence Welk show. We all watched Flip Wilson, Sonny and Cher and Donny and Marie. The rest of the time, Dad kind of controlled the tv. He liked MASH, Hogan’s Heroes, Monty Python, so I liked all those. He did not like All in the Family, the Jeffersons, anything rock and roll. He did like Sanford and Son and Chico and the Man, I liked those too. He seemed to like Saturday Night Live, I remember being allowed to watch that, though when Paul Simon and George Harrison were on he didn’t like George…my dad did not like The Beatles. He really didn’t like my music at all, so eventually I got my own tv in my bedroom and commandeered the vcr.

A lot of these shows barely qualify as '70s shows because they ended their runs shortly after the decade began. But I suppose if they'd just limited the shows to the ones that premiered after January 1969, they wouldn't have had anywhere near 100 shows to rank. Like you, I preferred the McLean Stevenson/Wayne Rogers era of M*A*S*H and the early years of SNL and All in the Family. I liked WKRP, Adam-12, Hawaii Five-O, Rockford Files and Barney Miller. Columbo too, but I didn't watch it until I was in my 20s and saw it in reruns on cable TV. SWAT was only on for a season and a half. The reboot that's on now has actually been on the air far longer than the original version.

Hi Larry He Haw had corny jokes but sometimes the music was fantastic when Roy Clark would play some guitar, mandolin, fiddle or banjo you will never see fingers moving that fast on anybody else. They also had great country singers. You tube has videos from that show.
