Is 16 not enough?
@ilovewhatidoforyou8 ай бұрын
@@jonzo22 16 works, especially when it’s “dual channel” (8gb + 8gb)…..however, games are starting to become more demanding (performance wise) and the ram usage is getting pretty high (For Example: Hogwarts Legacy is a game with memory issues, causing stutters and fps drops)…..32gb is good for “future proofing” as games become more sophisticated, requiring more ram (especially when a game is unoptimized with a memory leak problem).

I have a macbook m3 max (binned, 36gb, 1tb) and my cousin bought the g14 (4070,32gb,1tb ssd). Build quality goes to the mac the asus is 80ish percent there, some flex, screen wobble/wiggle. and hinges don't feel as tight. gaming the asus wins hands down things dont port over well on the mac but nintendo games work well when ported through ryujinx if you want to play other games the asus is th way to go. day to day they're both good the mac has great battery life fans never ramp up and I get significantly better battery life. I do alot of photo and video editing and my mac seems to be a bit faster but once you start adding multiple filters and layers having the 4070 makes the asus a better editing machine.but even in that scenario my macs fans never really come on. vs the asus that will ramp them up randomly hope that helps.

The Zephyrus line used to be the perfect balance between sleek clean looking creator laptops and powerful gaming laptops. The new 2024 models seems to lean more towards the creator side now, that atrocious pricing reflects that. I could live with having only 1 open sodimm slot, at least I can go up to 48GB of RAM. But for a machine that costs 2K, only coming with 16GB of RAM and cannot be upgraded is just bad; even the more expensive, higher trim models only go up to 32 GB. I was excited for this laptop since I wanted to upgrade from my old 2020 G14; but the RAM situation and that pricing is just criminal. Looks like I will stick with my good ol' reliable for a little while longer to see what the competition has in store, if not I'll just catch the 2023 models on a clearance sale since those will actually be worth the price.
