I’m a playtester for Avalon. I cannot share details about the game itself until it’s officially launched, but I can tell you it’s an awesome thematic competitive experience. I’m personally very excited for it to hit the market and eventually hit the table. I think folks will be quite happy with its mechanics and flavor

Turtles is up and boy it's expensive. I think I'll pass ... Was really looking forward to it but over $200 for the all in for something that small is ridiculous.

All in pledges are never cheap. This is why you don't go all in on any campaign

Yeah that's true but to say this is $220 is absurd. You can find other all in pledges that offer way more at that price and some core pledges at $100 too, this is clearly a cash grab ip and working on people's nostalgia and FOMO.

@protoman504 cash grab is sooooo disrespectful to designers, playtesters, and publishers to make it seem like game design is easy and half assed. With a series thats approaching 30 plus deep characters and then add 6 more...just say it's not affordable for a lot of people at move on.

@@jhowd78 just because it's well designed doesn't make it less of a cash grab. Just ask yourself would it have cost this much without tmnt slapped on it? wait you don't have to wonder because their last campaign was only $60 and that was with miniatures replacing the cardboard tokens this campaign should have been $80-$100 max for the all in.

I was one thinking TMNT would have more to it to. I knew Shredder and Krang. But I did want them to surprise with another character and villian in the stretch goals. But they got alternate cards. I was like really. Is it nice to have the villians as payable characters. Yes, but like you said, they have so many to choose from.

Thanks for another update. There's so many these days. Crowdfunding can feel oversatured sometimes. Do you ever play or cover solo only games? I always look for a good solo mode on everything I back almost, because I only have 1 friend who likes gamer board games right now. Today launched the Void Pilot Legacy a solo only game. I'm definitely interested and been following the campaign for a few months. But I am surprised as the price for a Deluxe edition and all in. Waterworks came out with Space Freight today (which does not have a solo mode), and I will probably skip. I do have Alpenglow from their Kickstarter. I am just waiting on them to release a solo mode. But I have played it two player twice so far with my friend. And there's another space themed one on Gamefound I'm considering called Stardriven Gateway. It looks to be the first game in a trilogy. But it looks expensive to back the entire trilogy blind right now and we have no info on the other games yet in this universe. I need to research it more. Even the stand alone looks a little expensive. And this month Heroes of Might and Magic ends and funds, and Dune: War for Arrakis with Cmon closes on the 4th. I have never backed a Cmon games, but a friend of mine has gotten a handful of their Zombicide through Kickstarter. So he thinks it's safe for me to back, they're just slow. However seeing people post on Gamefound they can't get a response from Cmon about missing pieces being shipped yet from the 2022 Kickstarter Campaign, is a red flag for me. And the Wayfairer Tale funds and ends this month also. I'm going to follow Root, but probably not back. It is deceptively cute. I'm not a pvp person normally, however certain themes I'm open to Wargames on. Like even though I normally hate combat in board games and video games, Dune still looks really good for me. When that is the focus. Plus the theme when I'm a little Dune obsessed. The combat I don't like is Civilization: A New Dawn in 2 player. I went technology, culture and trade like the video game and my friend steam rolled over me easily in two different playthroughs. He believes you have to work on combat a bit in that game mixed in with your other goals to be successful at the game. I don't like that I guess when you can have peaceful options and get F**k*d by combat later on is different than straight up Wargames.

Unfortunately I don’t do much solo.

A few thoughts....I understand why Shadowborne games went in a different direction with this second game, but going area control skirmish game after a boss battler type game with a fantastic story, is interesting. I don't know if there is a huge overlap between adventure/dungeon crawler/ boss battler with story narrative and area control skirmish game. And plus, it's based on Arthurian legend, where we have had a plethora of games recently released or launched within the last year. Invincible/Astro Knights- the main issue i have is that Indie Boards and Cards is horrible at promoting their games. I follow and consume board game news and media pretty regularly. I don't find out about a new Astro Knight release until just before launch. I'm a fan of the ip, but they don't send out emails or adds to let fans know. That is going to hurt them. Unmatched Adventures TMNT- sticker shock! Wow. Was not expecting that all-in price, especially after the previous Unmatched Adventures. I think the base pledge is more than sufficient. I would have loved to see those minis as stretch goals and not add-ons. The SG in this campaign is not interesting. Alt artwork of already existing cards. Sure. A better stretch goal would have been hero decks for the minions and sidekicks. Then, the minis for them make more sense.
