Pretty close. Filming began in 2018 and wrapped up in early 2019. Was supposed to come out in summer 2019 but got delayed. After a few more delays it's finally being released on May 27, 2022. That's about 4 years in the making.

Not just purely CG my man. I saw a doco on it’s aerial combat sequences and the majority of them are real. The cockpit shots of the cast in action are real ... with the rear co-pilot’s seat fitted out to look like a single seater and the fighter pilot in front actually flying the jet. The cast had to be trained to take all of the high-G manoeuvres. For me, I’ll be watching it purely for the jet fighter action sequences and I bet they won’t disappoint.
