Very happy with my Architect AK 6.5 in MagnaCut. Originally had the GSO 5.1 in MagnaCut on order but as Survive failed to deliver and wouldn't refund until I got help from my bank I decided to go for other options. Super good experience with Architect, fast delivery and good quality.

Been waiting 18 months for my 3 Maganacut GSO 5.1s but looks like I won't live long enough to see them. I'm thinking of filing fraud complaints with the PA AG. if I don't get my knives or a refund soon!

I’ve been waiting for my GSO 5.1 for longer than Magnacut has existed...and my AG and BBB complaints In Idaho where left unresolved as Guy skipped state...

I have 6 Survive Knives, 5 I ordered and one on secondary market. I have 4 more on order. I placed first order in September 2022 so I have not waited nearly as long as other folks. I love everything I bought, all perfect and I am willing to wait so they get it right. Edgeworks in Frederick Maryland has some models in stock, all EDC4 I think. I have met Guy and Ellie and think they are wonderful people who are not giving up despite going through a lot of problems. I get it, it’s hard in a world of Amazon to wait such a long time.

I ordered a Randall 5-6, Chris Reeve Pacific and a GSO 5.1 all around the same time in 2018. Expected wait time were 5 year’s, 3 year’s and 2 months respectively. I received the first two quicker than expected while I’m still waiting on Survive. I also didn’t have to pay full price until my knives were ready to ship...I have 2 knives on order with Survive I’ve now been waiting 5 & 4 years for. Both were “in production” when I ordered. Survive has ignored my refund requests, blocked me in their media and continues to create the same BS expectations every year. I just gave up...

@@dlrmon1Sorry to hear that, a long time. I snagged a Pacific in 4V last year when I found a couple in stock and really like it. I got GSO 5.1 on Ebay and was slightly worn but good shape. I had ordered the GSO but didn’t know how long wait would be.

Not sure if you know but Survive went out of business.

I’ve been processing a truck load of 4”-6” Cedar Limbs every weekend for now for over a month. Been testing many knives. In the Esee 6 size class I’m comparing the Esee and Ontario Rat 6’s, the AK 6.5 amongst others. What I’ve learned with the AK’s, I don’t care for drop point design’s in use. The plunge line above the finger choil limits usable blade length and the pommel can be annoying at times.
@dlrmon18 ай бұрын
Out of the box the Esee 6 is still the best performer of the three. After reshaping the Pommel on the Ontario Rat 6 (S35vn) and swapping handle scales and sheath with Esee 6 parts, it’s my favorite so far...another annoying thing is a knife I love to hate keeps winning. The Cold Steel 7” 3V Warcraft. Ugly but it just works...

I would also note that my Fallkniven A1 and CS SRK (3V) handles are getting beat up fast...Just Say’n

I rather stick to my Reiff Knives, Hands down beats a Tops or is next to Survive knives or better

I have an Architect 5.5 Magnacut on the way (already shipped), I would have gotten the 6.5 except A) they were out of Magnacut blades for it and B) I detest finger choils and consider them a WASTE of blade space. Give me a 6.5 FULL LENGTH edge and I'd be wait listed for one. Notice how that Bark River doesn't have a finger choil? (gadzooks, that's a GOOD LOOKING knife!!) I also have a Survive! EDC-4 on the way, and I am neutral on the drama.

Would you say the AK is on par with the GSO in quality, or just better because of the company and its close enough to the same quality?
@AlaskanFrontier18 ай бұрын
The quality is on par. And as I have mentioned in other videos. They use the same steels, heat treatment at the same facility, this makes the end performance very similar.

Hello Matthew, I love your videos, whenever I have free time I watch one of your videos, I like the charisma you transmit. Knives, bushcraft and EDC are topics that I am passionate about, I am also learning English and your videos, apart from being entertaining, are useful to me because "I train my ear" with a topic that I like, I love American knife brands, my favorites are Buck, Cold steel, Kabar but also some European ones like Mora, Opinel or Victorinox, even some Chinese but high quality ones like Ruike. greetings.

No more ESEE 6?

Basically the Ontario RAT 7

or the ESEE 5?
@AlaskanFrontier18 ай бұрын
I thought I mentioned in the video. And I do like ESEE knives, but I recommended the RAT model over any ESEE flavor because for similar prices as ESEE you can go get yourself an AK 5.5 or 6.5 in CPM 3V. Which will out perform the ESEE 6/5. They aren’t as competitive as other offerings at this time.
@TacoSousVide8 ай бұрын
Right. I was just asking you specifically because in your older videos you seemed to really like the ESEE 6. Wasn’t sure if that fell out of favor. (I have an ESEE 6 being delivered today). Great video either way!

5 years for a knife, that's crazy talk. No chunk of metal is worth the wait. For all the comments I read it sounds like they are running a scam circle. What a shame to see it happening in the blade industry.
