a minor factor why i went with quad cast a year ago was the added value of built in shock mount and pop filter. coming from a blue yeti with the factory issue of standard shock mounts not fitting, the hyperx quadcast coming with it built in was a blessing. plus shock mounts go for about $20-40, and a pop filter is about $10, so the mic itself is around $90-100. the convenience of having it all in one already and not having to making sure your parts are compatible is a big plus.

Razer is certianly the worst of the bunch... but that pink tho! 😉 Out of this bunch I liked the Elgato best although it's a little sibilant so get that de-esser out. Wave also wins on quality/asthetics for me too as I'd prefer a small form mic that doesn't stand out while I'm streaming. Wave 3 is also cool but you're paying for a higher bit and sample rate along with the tap to mute button on the top so Wave 1 is probably a better deal for most streamers. EQ in OBS is absolutely the way to go or throw in a plugin like iZotope Neutron as a VST filter in OBS and get the best EQ and compression possible. If you're not using OBS you can also use plugins in real time to make these mics sound better via Audio Hijack (Mac) or Voicemeeter Banana (PC). Nice video Harris and Ryan and absolute coincidence we release a video like this at exactly the same time 🎙😁

tbh i still think the blue snow ball (ice or non ice doesn't matter) is like the best value, sounds identical to the Yeti and you can't even tell the difference between these mics.. on youtube..... not to mention it's a quarter of the prices i don't really see a reason to spend more then what the snowball costs atleast when we are talking about USB mics if you start going XLR then yeah listening to it uncompressed in a studio with a proper amp it will obviously sound better with the raw file. , buuuut at the same time. KZbin has a set bitrate for audio you gain almost nothing going from USB- XLR with a AMP because youtube literally can't use it's bitrate, the best you can do is use software to adjust pitches,dampening and gains to force it to sound "different" i still vastly recommend the snowball for anyone doing youtube, nothing comes close to the value it provides, really it's only downside is it's basic, and i guess sorta "ugly" but thats purely subjective no gain control and no software, at the same time though, you can easily adjust anything you want in windows, not to mention, why do you need gain control? i'v personally never understood the point of that,if you wanna argue a mute button, then fair, but it has to be said that you can set up a hot hey to mute the mic in windows it's not "native" to the microphone so to all their own. however it only takes a few seconds to set up. .if you really need to you can adjust it with your editing software, go watch comparisons on youtube of the snowball vs "XXX" mic you'll be hardpressed to tell the difference here on youtube since the bitrate compression.

I believe the Quadcast S also acts as an audio output device, the original just had monitoring through the port on the back, not audio passthrough from your computer

The seiren mini is gonna give the blue snowball iCE a run for its money. The seiren mini smaller, more ergonomic, and idk. People say it looks like a buttplug but that's with the pink edition and the stand, and it looks more like a pill to me. A black version on a boom arm would actually look pretty good. Though it's hard for me to tell, as an iCE owner, I'm excited to try the seiren mini at some point to compare the two. I can also imagine that the seiren mini would be a great mic for using in public. Throw it on a stick and bam. I'm really just excited to see what people think.

Harris: "One of the most helpful videos" Me: Do you mean one of the most successful?
@BrancoB4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, Harris, I'm seeking for your advice if you're kind enough to help me out. I'm looking for a new Mic to buy for my KZbin videos and to be honest, I'm not sure which one would fit me the most. Note: I'm looking for a USB mic like HyperX Quadcast or something similar. Anyway, if you could listen to how my voice sounds in one of my videos (i recommend the one which is highlighted on my channel, I had more time to edit the sound on that one), you might be able to recommend me a microphone. The problem is that English is not my main or secondary language so the " S " tends to have a really high pitch. And to remove that, I'm usually editing the sound in Adobe Audition. At this point, I'm using " Superlux E205U " USB Microphone. However, I'm unable to control the gain and this is one of the reasons I would like to change it. Hopefully, you see this comment and you can reach back to me. Thank you & Best Regards, BrancoB.

Hahaha, loved how Sam drew my attention to the mic, when I was just focused on the content at hand. Suddenly I was like when will Harris and Senpai notice the hanging mic 😂

While rating functionality, you gave the yeti a 6 and the wave a 8, but u posted the numbers in the opposite locations on ur rate chart. Just a heads up!

I'm confused, he said the Wave1 was his overall favorite on both voices, especially on Harris'.... but then gives it a 3.5 and gives the HyperX a 4?

Its annoying because they mixed sound quality with aestetics (lol??). So because how much he dislikes the Wave design, that scoring happened

I just want to point out that Blue has the "Snowball Ice" that you can pick up for $50. I think its quality is far superior than the Razer and its what I use on my streams.

dude my snowball is so soft

Both i and my friend had Snowballs, mine was a regular one and my friend had the ice. What a steaming pile of shit it was. Both sounded horrible and mine broke just after 3 months. My friends ice lasted longer but he literally had to keep it 10cm from his mouth for it to pick up anything. My friend replaced his with a simple headset mic, while i went with a proper XLR mic that completely shitfucks every mic in this video back to the stoneage despite costing less than all these.

@@oxaile4021 do you think that the razer one is better than the snowball? in my country there isn't all the microphones brands, and i'm searching something around $50-60 to start streaming... what should i do?

Ryan was rating it out of 5 and Harris out of 10. That confused me when I clicked through the video to find the final score. I thought that Ryan was a harsh critic, but he actually gave the microphones a higher score on average with a 7/10 compared to Harris with a 6.5/10.

1:45 How does every music get manually approved by KZbin? How does that work? Does it get monetized first and have to submit license to be manually approved?
