Thanks for this - I find it strange how the Formovie could have been the overall pick given its very weak relative scores in daylight viewing? Secondly, in terms of the projectors included - was there any reason projectors like the AWOL LTV-3000 wasn't included as a new model?

AWOL was compared in the 2022 Laser TV Showdown. Ultimately ProjectorCentral chose the contenders, which was limited by the 10 screens they had setup side-by-side. We’ve seen AWOL UST projectors at industry tradeshows and believe they do have a very competitive product range.

I’m not sure what you’re asking. What we discussed was a recap of the 2023 Laser TV Showdown organized by ProjectorCentral and ProjectorScreen.

They will ignore TheHookUp video, because that guy actually spent days getting data and showing proof of what these machines can do. He didn't sit around looking at some screens for a few hours. This ranking is the least scientific most disingenuous way to rank a tech product. They learned from audiophiles, they think they can talk for hours about something that they think is subjective, when in fact it can be measured easily with the right tools. Projectors can actually be filmed side by side and we all have decent displays at home that will show you the differences. Talking this much about something with no data is straight from the "audiophile" playbook.

I think for customers using UST projector, sound emanating from the projector won’t be their choice and they will definitely go for an external audio. I don’t think even the costliest of the UST’s sound can match that of a home theatre system costing even $ 2000. Where as for lifestyle projector , matter may be different. The on board sound will help since the projector will be on the constant move . I may be wrong too.

I'd use and external device anyway like Nvidia Shield TV PRO for the best connection/codec performance.

The VaVa is a single laser projector. I wouldn't even be a fair comparison.

No Vava projector was included this year, but at last year's Laser TV Showdown (2022) the Formovie Theater earned significantly higher scores than the Vava Chroma.
