Nice watch - love the proportions. The only thing I would change on it, and other Yemas for that matter, is they should use "Automatique" on the dial. Embrace their French heritage and give us more of it. Hats off to Yema for leaving the date off the dial.

It's also odd that they print the depth rating in feet instead of metres. I thought perhaps this was in keeping with the aviation theme, but they do it on their divers too.

@@vaguepast on a pilot's it makes absolute sense, in divers I do not know. With that being said, it's something quirky and I kinda like it... even tho I am pro-metric in every other thing.

I actually purchased the Yema French Air Force Superman watch earlier in August after seeing multiple ads for it while I was on a training assignment for the Army. Once I recieved it I fell in love! What an amazing piece it is, perfectly weighted and it blends seamlessly into any outfit or uniform I'm wearing. While searching for details about the watch I actually stumbled upon your channel, and have been subscribed ever since!

My French grandfather wore a Yema. As a reminder of this man that I admired for his physical prowess as a rock climber and hiker, as a reminder of my French heritage (for I've been living in the USA for the past 6 years), and as a reminder of home (Yema comes from the same region that I grew up in and where I still travel to yearly), I have purcharsed a Yema for myself about a month ago. I am now a proud wearer of the Superman II Maxidial, full of heritage and personal meaning. Best regards, TS

Absolutely beautiful piece. Love these details on the dial and how good the printing looks, even when magnified. This looks like a watch I would pay double of what they are asking for. And the video was a treat of it's own again. The intros, the reviews, the watches, the whole approach to this great hobby and always the explanation of the historical context. No other watch channel on YT has the class of this one. Thank you for the high quality content, TGV, best wishes from Germany

Great video. I do really like this new Flygraf. I have a 39mm Superman Heritage GMT with 19mm lugs and no problem. I don't know why some have to make a big deal? If you've been into watches and especially vintage, 19mm was a rather classic and common lug size. My Rolex and Vacheron Constantine both utilize 19mm and they are 34mm and 33mm watches respectively. I want to say I think my vintage Seiko Silver Dial 6139 Speed-Timer was also 19mm lugs.. wouldn't surprise me of you found more vintage Seiko's with 19nm also. Again, it's not as common as 20mm or 22mm, but it may be perhaps kind of the next most common uncommon lug size. Squeeze in your favorite 20mm strap if you can't find it in 19mm.. curved spring bars do wonders to facilitate 20mm into 19mm. But, I digress... I a seriously contemplating the M2 gray dial version. There are maybe 2 things that hold me back, and they are potentially rather trivial 1) They should make a matching vertically brushed bracelet for it. Sure, pilot watches generally look best on a 2-piece strap or even a NATO. But, I al was says prefer to have a matching bracelet option with my watches whenever possible. Can't deny a good pilot watch on bracelet looks good eitelher as a sport or blinged out option.. e.g. Breitling Navitimer on bracelet. I also like my Sinn 104 on a matching bracelet. 2) This one is weird, but why are their dots between the numbers in the 24-hour inner scale? It's still a 12-hour format so why mark the 1/2 hours in between? Also, they are the only parts in the inner scale that are lumed and not the 13-24 numbers, so what is the point? Idk, the inclusion and some bit of emphasis on the 1/2 hour Mark's between the hours is a genuine oddity to me. Perhaps simply a design element, but with such a seemingly purpose built pilot watch, I can't see any purpose to that detail and aspect of the design. Can you? If so, or anyone, please explain.

First off let me say I love the look of YEMA watches so I ordered the YEMA Superman Heritage in blue more than two weeks ago. That is when things started to go south. The watch arrived in just a day or two at Cincinnati. Once US customs got a hold of the watch you have to fill out a customs form which I had to fill out three times because YEMA’s instructions are less than clear( still I should have figured out the first time). Once the customs form was reviewed I had to pay about $130 duty fee.i started to wonder if the watch was worth all the effort. Once DHL got a hold of the watch that is when the process really went south. First off I signed up for text notifications so I would know where the watch was during the delivery process. Unfortunately instead of receiving accurate text notifications they abruptly stopped and the last notification said the watch still was pending release from Cincinnati. This Friday at 4:30 they claimed they attempted delivery while my offices were open. Have tried to reach them to no avail as customer service is only available Monday through Friday! Just warning you YEMA’s logistics are not the best. The watch arrived in the US on July 3rd it is now July 11th and still no idea when I will receive it.
@theurbangentry4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that, I hope DHL get it sorted soon. I hate it when that happens. It's happened to me too! However, with my Yema I never had these problems, only with luxury watches which made it even more nerve racking. The best of luck and thank you for watching, Best regards, TGV
