Nice Pulp Fiction homage :-) The best revenge for an angry comment in real life is a correct and factual reply. The angry one will then feel ashamed afterwards. In social media the best revenge is giving no attention. That is what they want, get a reaction, make you angry. And for anyone involved in internet discussions, not just content creators, is to not take anything personally. If someone leaves a hateful reply, it is not about you. It is about them. They have issues. No reason for you to get interested.

Hi TGV, luckily I don't follow watch releases closely enough to have a strong opinion. Definitely correct on the 50m Duro. Terrible! For less than £15, the MRW-200H is more capable! 100% agree with the Hanhart diver too. Maybe because it's coloured blue like a classic Omega Seamaster 💙 The line that absolutely cracked me up was the Hugo "pate" clip 😅 Brilliant sir 👍🏻🇬🇧

Not that I need another watch, but I sincerely hope Casio takes another swing at the Duro. Just make it 38-40mm and they'll be difficult to buy.

Worth noting the smaller Casio Duro has a claimed diameter of 38mm, but that’s including the crown, without it it’s 36mm

Hanhart advert at number 1? A dive watch no one needs from aviation watch specialists? I’d be happier if you put the Hanhart/TGV chrono at 1, it’s a genuine beauty and Hanhart at their best

I don’t know how you don’t include the Marathon line of true military issued watches. They are the true military spec watch that is issued to the Canadian and U.S. Armed Forces. I think their are seriously under rated. The CSAR is something that should be worn on the wrist of any 1990 Hollywood movie start mowing down the bad guys with a machine gun. See Arnold Schwartzaneger.

You must be new here, they were in my top 10 last year and as a former owner of a GSAR, I spoke about them during the last live show on Wednesday about Bond/Seamasters, you obviously have lots more videos to watch, enjoy and welcome! Best regards, TGV

To me theres something outdated with both Bulova and Hannhart, which I personally do not like. Seems like they are from 80s and 90s respectively and it just aint my cup of tea.

Of SU. You could have easily added the Moser collab. A shameless excuse for more shilling of tat. And No.1 dog, yet alone not in anyone’s top 10? The Doxa SUB 200T Diamonds. The heritage zombie brand has finally died… Shame. Shame. Shame. Watch of the year. With its genuine heritage and bloodline - Momentum UDT. Not flawless but a brave attempt to reimagine an icon.

Alpina, Victorinox and Hanhart all the way. Some excellent choices.

That Hanhart looks great, but I wish they hadn't done a stencil-font style for the bezel numerals. They obviously were not spraypainted onto the bezel using a cardboard stencil, so it smacks of pretending. Of posing. Of seeming, rather than being. Even for a military guy like me, I'd rather they were just normal sans-serif numerals.

TGV, I found you through Federico, back in the day. When that happened between you two, I have continued to follow both, but I think that that moment divided a lots of people - what can you do, people love drama, and enjoy choosing sides. After that, it was a parrot game, Archie and Bear didn’t help, and here we are. I collect watches for 15 years, and on many occasions I do not agree with your point of view, but to each it’s own.

It's a shame you had to highlight the tackiest choice of the Chanel watches, as they have some tasteful pieces too. & Hublot had a homerun this year with the Arsham Droplet. I think the AP was an alright choice, it's far too big though. I would've reserved the hyper watch pick for the Cartier Rewind, or the Berneron Mirage personally.

The Arabics on the hanhart bezel just don't make sense. Stylised to match that ugly 12 marker while compromising legibility, from a brand known for chronographs? Watch of the year, my crown & pinion!

What’s the Italian for ‘conflict of interest adjacent’? Odd you didn’t include the IWC in the best list despite your GPHG vote.
@theurbangentry3 сағат бұрын
Great observation regarding the IWC. The reason I didn't include it in my 10 best is; while it is unquestionably impressive, it is not something I would actually consider buying, and even if I could, would do so. Therefore my 10 consists of watches I would, can and would actually consider to own, and in some cases, already do. At the end of the day, most of the fancy stuff that higher end brands can achieve is absolutely amazing, but I tend to gravitate to watches I can enjoy on a more realistic day to day basis. However, innovations like that do not escape me, so I felt it would be more interesting to include it when talking about value compared to RM. As for conflict of interest adjacent in Italian, well that is a VERY long story, I'm not even sure where to start, but it goes on even today with issues in EU regulations post Berlusconi and his former media empire. A topic for another day perhaps. Thank you, great comment. Best regards, TGV

I don't mind a pineapple pizza watch, I'm not Italian, but if it were something close to my cultural roots, say, a catholic edition Pelagos (the "snowflake" hand looks like a Hussite mace)... nope, still funny. I need something else. Nevermind, I meant to say I understand. I' ve got it - Seiko Presage beer cocktail watches aren't rated to be accidentally dropped into beer. An oversight.
