Does it act like other 70mai dashcams, in that it 'hears itself' announce "start recording video", and it starts recording an emergency video? Does it sporadically take picture or start recording emergency video 'uncommanded' ?....ie; if I drive over a cattle grid or road surface rumble strips, this typically sets it off =)

Yes, it does behave as you mentioned, I get like around 10 or more such recordings on my daily commute 😅 It does announce “Start emergency recording” and also “Recording complete” quite often as i drive over rumble strips or small potholes. I have also turned down the sensitivity to the lowest, its a bit annoying at times, but bearable, and also could prove useful in case of any accidents.

Yeah, seems like lots of 70mai cams do this ~ it's not a problem provided you've got a large sdcard installed ; it is a problem when the emergency videos ...which it won't over-write....start to take up more space leaving you with only a few minutes of realtime loop recording ; I typically reformat the card periodically. I think the other firmware bug I noticed, was the datestamp on videos versus the datestamp on the actual video files..often they don't align/make sense.

@@gcbification True, i think it’s intentional that the emergency videos don’t get deleted automatically, but they could have atleast given an option to autodelete emergency videos as well, since there’s gonna be a lot of false positives. I use the 256GB card, but sooner or later I’ll have to delete all those videos/format card as well😂 I didn’t know about the date stamp bug yet, will check to make sure, thanks!
