He hasn’t tho? He’s making the same mistake l they all do. Achane does not go in the 4th round, he’s ranked at the end of 2nd in ESPN which is what people see and go by. Nantes is also a late 4th on the draft board not early 3rd.

​@Loganbub That's the thing with ADP, the knowledge... You gotta make your own rankings, based on the site you use. If you know he goes in the 2nd, and you want him, then you reach. But in the same sense, if everyone taking him "early" then you have an extra player to choose from for your team. I followed official adp averages on an ESPN draft, and I don't like my team at all. After you make a rough adp list, you have to tier the positions and make changes based on your preference. Whether it be your gut or an analyst you agree with, you still gotta put in the work.

@@Loganbubagreed, as an ESPN drafted this frustrates me so much because I’ve legitimately never done a mock draft where the players taken reflect their “ADP” on the app, quite frankly I don’t even know how they calculate those so called “ADP’s”. I still think he got some of the names right, like Rashee who is actually ranked like 79th I believe but I’m still trying to lock him in at my 58th or 63rd pick, but it is annoying that I haven’t seen a single FF video go off ESPN’s actual rankings

It’s extremely frustrating because the advice doesn’t matter none of its predicated on getting guys at value. ESPN adp is pointless, people go by draft boards but it seems like a few content creators are finally catching on to this.

I just want to remind people that just bc you're getting an "insane" value in your home leagues relative to high stakes adp, this doesn't mean it is a smash pick. I remember last year people preaching to draft Calvin Ridley in espn and sleeper just because you were getting him rounds later compared to "experienced" draft rooms and we all know how that turned out. Make your own tiers of these players and let those influence how much a value a certain player is.

I somewhat agree, but I think most people see higher stakes ADP as a more accurate reflection of when a player should be drafted and fantasy is all about value. If people drafting over and over again for money are taking ridley in round 3, and hes available for you in round 5 how do you not avoid that pick? versus picking someone else who is available there bc they SHOULD be available there. I think more often than not the risk is outweighed. I think waddle is prime example of that for this year. He's going in the 2nd round in most drafts and then you get to ESPN and hes going in the 4th. I'd say if hes available in round 3 you take... in round 4 absolutely smash that pick lol.

Agreed, you draft tons of best ball teams, so adp value is much more valuable in the composite, as those teams with good value advance more often. In home league redraft, you have one, maybe two teams. Player takes are FAR more important than perceived ADP value in that setting.

Correct, but it is still "value" for adp purposes and opportunity cost. Value does not mean the player will be good but it does help you navigate players you LIKE and playing the adp game.

Ron have you ever considered any content on auction drafts? My main league is with the boys and and it can get wild but we’re all pretty sharp. It’s auction draft with one keeper (1.5x draft/waiver cost). I live it because you can build the team you want based on a $200 budget. I’ve been able to translate good snake draft values into auction, but would be interested to hear your thoughts! Love the videos, been listening for a few years now!

Hey Ron, just a heads up ESPN draft rooms DO NOT go off that cheat sheet any more, they go off the rankings in their 2024 PROJECTIONS page. It’s a pain in the ass to export it to a spreadsheet but I found a way to do it. Quick way to fact check me is to go in a mock draft lobby. Ceedee is ranked 2nd, not 4th.

I took Achane in the middle of the third round after getting lamb and Garrett Wilson. Not totally happy, so I followed it with cook and then 5 rounds later took mosert and then later grabbed chase brown and Jonathon brooks, hence, no top tier rb, but. Decent group to work with two top receivers

I used your rankings in my draft yesterday and my league mates clearly haven't watched any of your videos as they let so much value fall into my lap. 10 team full PPR, 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2Flex(R/W/T), K, DST. Picked at the 1.05 1. Ceedee Lamb 2. Jonathan Taylor 3. Jahmyr Gibbs 4. Nico Collins 5. DJ Moore 6. DK Metcalf 7. DaVonta Smith 8. George Pickens 9. Jaylen Warren 10. Javonte Williams 11. Caleb Williams 12. TJ Hockenson 13. Luke Musgrave 14. Rico Dawdle 15. Justin Herbert 16. Tyler Bass Immediately after the draft I put Hockenson on IR and picked up the Bengals DST for week 1. I can't believe Ceedee Lamb fell to me at the 1.05 and I can't believe I basically got two RB1's and that all those WR's fell to me. My league took QBs & TEs waay too early so I ended up punting and taking risk high reward shots at those positions.

One flaw I see in this method...NFC starts 3 WR with a possible 4th WR flex. Yahoo and ESPN are 2 WR with 1 Flex by default. Which is what their ranking are based off of (not sure on Sleeper but it is probably the same). Add to that NFC is a full PPR while I believe you said that the other sites are either 1 or half PPR. That means the value of WRs is super juiced in that NFC league. Possibly starting 4 WRs in full PPR, yeah you'd be drafting them way earlier than these other sites. That is why virtually every WR past the first round has a positive draft value on your sheet. Because NFC settings overvalue them. This is at the expense of every other position. Especially QBs it would seem. That's why those other positions tend to be negative draft values. So just something to consider when using this for your home drafts. Pay attention to your league settings/scoring. Your sheet does do a good job at finding large outliers at each position though. So big ty for that.

Taking Bijan at 4 or 8 is honestly almost irrelevant. The take on him needs to revolve around Allgeirs usage. If anyone believes Allgeir will have a snap share above 30%, Bijan should be a total first round fade.

I actually agree on this. Everyone is assuming he’s going to be a workhorse which of course is great for fantasy however, the coaches may want to keep him fresh and have more of a 60/40 split with their more than capable backup. At which case his top 6 price tag will be not met.

We all know coach speak has to be taken with a grain of salt. Every coach says they love everyone on their team and everyone is a “weapon”. Then they get punched in the mouth as Tyson would say and start to alter the initial plan. So many times in the past a coach has hyped up a player and then they were overdrafted and underperformed. I just don’t see them giving Algier under 5 carries a game with how effective he is and can be. Time will tell tho

I followed your spreadsheet and drafted on best available/need, in a 12 team PPR league I got Jahmyr Gibbs and AJ Brown at the 12-13 turn, Achane in the 3rd, Nabers in the 4th (Waddle was there, but I passed since I already had Achane), Rashee Rice in the 5th, McBride in the 6th, Kyler Murray in the 7th, Christian Kirk in the 8th, Jerome Ford in the 9th, Zack Moss in the 10th, Hopkins in the 11th, Jameson Williams in the 12th, Jonathon Brooks in the 13th (how?), and Khalil Shakir in the 14th.
