Welcome back. We are the Vegan Diners, and today we are showing you the lunch we ate at the iconic vegan pizza restaurant Purezza in Camden.
A short walk from Camden Market, Purezza is the largest vegan restaurant in the UK. Its menu boasts a wide range of vegan pizzas, pastas, salads, burgers, and desserts. They use only the highest quality, sustainably sourced ingredients to create dishes that are not only delicious but also good for you and the planet.
At lunchtime, they offer a £15 set menu which includes a 7" pizza, a small plate, and a drink of your choice, which can be any bottled beer, small glass of wine, soft drink, mocktail, or hot drink. We partook in this deal as we thought it was good value.
Our daughter started with a STRAWBERRY SPRITZ, which was a mocktail with strawberry, lime, and rhubarb. This was sweet with a slight tartness from the rhubarb. We had a Peroni lager and Gravity apple cider. Both were enjoyable and refreshing.
To start, our daughter had the dough balls, which were stuffed with gooey vegan cheese. She really enjoyed these. We had the baked aubergine parmigiana, which was lovely and cheesy, with a nice tomato sauce, and the slow cooked meatball, which were in tomato sauce. These were really tasty too.
On to the pizzas. Our daughter had the pepperoni &agave pizza. The pizza dough had a good balance between being crispy and doughy. The plant-based pepperoni tasted really authentic, and it had a nice kick from the chilies. We also had the four cheese pizza, which was topped with Mozzarella, Honestly Tasty Blue, Honestly Tasty Shamembert, feta, La Vie Bacon, and smoked chili jelly. This was incredibly tasty, and it was so nice to have all the different cheeses.
Purezza make so many great-sounding pizzas that we will almost certainly be back. Quite simply they make the best vegan pizza we have ever had, and their food is infinitely better than the vegan options in places like Pizza Express. We also like the fact they work with other vegan food producers, and they now have La Fauxmagerie on-site selling a wide range of vegan cheeses.
Purezza also has branches in Manchester and Brighton. We would highly recommend you give them a visit if you want to try perfect plant-based pizza. Until next time, happy vegan dining.
