When I played that pocket edition, I became convinced that the sheep, cows, etc would turn into the zombies, skeletons, and creepers when it became nighttime so I was always afraid of them and killed them on sight to stop them from attacking me. early minecraft sure made our imaginations run wild

i remember the even older pocket edition lite where the worlds didn't save and for some reason kid me thought the epitome of fun was making a creative world with the sole purpose of essentially making the superflat world type from scratch. just hours of levelling the whole world into a single layer of grass, keeping my ipod plugged in and turned on so the world wouldn't delete itself, and then doing it all over again once i was done or the world reset. good times

The algorithm blesses me today. I didnt grow up with this old version of Pocket Edition (my introduction to Minecraft was DanTDM mod reviews and I didn't actually get the game until Java edition 1.7) so its really nice to hear an official testimony from someone who did! Your audio and video editing is extremely high quality and I was kept thoroughly entertained for the whole thing. Definitely earned my subscription!

The lack of caves has permanently warped my view of mining. I remember there was one seed, 444 i think (alot of seeds overlapped too bc world generation was so limited) and if you dug straight down at spawn you got gold and diamonds. Because of that even to this day I dig straight down as the apparent danger never got ingrained in my head.

The nostalgia I have for this version of the game, oh my god. I remember being SO excited when caves were added, and, before they were added, being very jealous of the KZbinrs I watched that could find diamonds by exploring a cave instead of strip mining for hours while your hands got *really* warm from your overheating kindle fire. I still remember the day the update that added caves and villages and more mobs and all of that to pocket edition; I don’t think I’ll ever be that excited about anything again loll 💀

Minecraft will always have this really cozy and nostalgic feeling for me when it comes to the old Xbox 360 version, since that's the one I grew up playing. You're so right though in saying that old Minecraft PE just had this eerie... off feeling to it. It felt that way as a kid, but was still oddly cozy and charming to me. Especially with all of the limitations it had. I remember being super excited finally being able to build a brick house since clay was such a scarce resource on this version, and in that same world I rounded up all of the sheep around the map and built a little farm since you weren't able to breed them. It was definitely a super weird version of Minecraft and not technically the *greatest*, but it was fun thinking outside the box and getting more creative with it for those reasons. I'm still oddly fond of it, lol. Really really nice video!! It was cool getting to look back on this version of the game after so long :)

I made an entire kingdom on this version, a big ass castle, minecarts leading to different "towns" I made. Thanks to the world border, everything was kinda compact. The castle town had a huge wall I painstakingly made over the course of weeks, then made temples for different Biomes. Good times were had and many memories

i grew up completely on mcpe, never had java edition until 6 years after i'd been playing minecraft. i will never forget first downloading the free version on a road trip, hearing zombie noises, thinking they were creepers, and getting so scared i deleted the game. wasn't until like a month later when i played it again with my cousin and begged my parents to let me buy the full version, and i definitely got my money's worth on that. i still have my ipod frozen in the year 2014 with my old worlds on it

I built a lot of stuff when I was little. One of them was a huge TNT, I don’t remember that original video but I really got inspired from it. Another was stampy’s bedroom, block for block (obviously), and the earliest memories I have is trying to build pixel art of the brand new iPhone 5, and also a skyscraper out of only nether reactor blocks. Now it’s been over 10 years since I did all of these things..

Minus the 360 version of the game I had a very similar childhood, this game just has a certain charm to it. I think the simplicity of it is just so much of its charm. Also I don't know if there is any merit to this but I really liked the way the sky and the fog was an extremely bright blue color. It made the game feel much more like a peaceful experience.

i was TOTALLY a pocket edition kid. I still have my first world, although it's no longer accessible due to some weird glitch, I'm not able to open the world anymore :( but maybe one day ill try the emulation method and try to see if i can get it working again, cuz I'd love to see that world again.

I remember playing creative mode in an old old version, with no access to most blocks, and finding an actual lava fountain near the worlds edge. It was literally just like... one of those lame one block streams, and wasn't really remarkable at all by today's standards. But as a kid, that was a VOLCANO! And I built a VOLCANO BASE, with glass to see the lava and stuff. And it was such a big deal because back then it was so rare, and you couldn't have lava buckets in creative mode. I can still picture it like it was yesterday. God, pocket edition, you will be missed. As janky as it is, it was just so nostalgic, and I didn't even know back then I was engaged in a game that would follow me into adulthood.

The good days. I spend like a week of my time on my ipod 4 in a survival world. I mined every. single. block. of that world. Nothing but bedrock left. Then I made one single layer of cobblestone like a big flat platform. Decided I didn’t like that and didn’t feel like mining all of it so I deleted the world. Instantly regretted and had to fight back tears. My iPod would get so hot that I would have to put it down because it felt like my thumbs were getting burned. I played that game so much and had so many worlds that it took up 6 of the 8. gb on that iPod. Downloaded PE again after seeing this video and couldn’t last more than five minutes before deleting it. It really isn’t the same anymore

I remember my first survival world, I knew virtually nothing about the game and only had pocket edition. I gathered up some items and died very quickly. I didn't know about items despawning or where I had died so I lost all those items including the map and the only sugarcane in the world. When I heard people talking about caves in minecraft I thought they were joking, or referring to the strip mines they did. Speaking of strip mining i was determined to completely mine out the bottom layer of the world, i never did finish doing that. And the nether reactor core, oh gosh I remember being so afraid when i finally used it. I don't think I knew it was craftable. Anyways, when I started playing on xbox 360 I was surprised by all the things that weren't in PE. I'm bit sad that i lost all my old PE worlds. I've been thinking about finding a version of old PE and seeing how I would play it now. thanks for the nostalgia trip lol. Where did you find the download for the game?

I have too many fond memories of pocket edition demo. Its the only version i could play back then. Only in 2017 i got a laptop, shes had multiple deaths/crashes from fried, virus and that was it. Other eise shes still running strong. Even with some keyboard damage. But nothing too crazy. Just some keys broken on the numpad and the backspace.

I remember my old PE world doing a glitch where it would always spawn me outside the world border; and since it was invisble bedrock on there, it would literally spawn me standing on the top of it. Id always have to walk until i found a water pool to jump down from or id die immediately 😂

Minecraft PE was the only version of Minecraft I really had when I was younger. I remember the nether reactor and finding old house guides.. It was so primitive. I had played a little bit of the legacy console version from someone else but that was it. I remember one birthday when I was like 12 or something I got this old PC and a copy of Minecraft but the PC was way too old and slow to run it properly 😭 so really most of my time in Minecraft has been spent in what is now Bedrock Edition

Did you ever try the very first version of pocket edition? I would LOOOVE to see a video on that.... However it would be a very short video. Imagine playing on PC, and then seeing the app and getting all exited.... But there are no mobs, no survival mode, the sky makes it look really cold, it's creative mode, but without flight, and without instant block breaking. And yet I still spent days in there making a world of creations and houses and buildings.
