@@RemodelWithRobert I’m thinking about the Palm City Golden Sand Oak, but I’m a little worried it will read yellow. Do you think it is yellow or more neutral? Our installer is really trying to steer us away from the RevWood towards LVP. I think he thinks it is more like a traditional laminate and will have issues in places like where the dog’s water bowl is eventually. Any thoughts on that? LVP just always looks like plastic to me.

Lighting is so important and what it is up against. There is yellow in there but that doesnt mean in the right setting it cant be a neutral tone for the house. I wouldnt be worried at all about the dog's waterbowl as the water wont penetrate the joints if properly installed. And I agree, though there are some vinyls I like quite a bit they look much more plastic in general than laminate and dont compete on realism with the RevWood at all in my opinion.

Been looking at Morena Bluffs Fresh Spring Pecan CDL 40.01 but can’t find a full floor done in this other then the back of sample ,but how may boards are in a box and how many to repeat ?

This is a great video! I am trying to decide between Cliffside Pecan, Coconut Oak or Palm Tree Oak…. such a very hard decision

I put coconut oak throughout a home and for a darker floor I really love how it turned out. I am more partial to the oak looks myself but that pecan is a winner for anyone who likes the grain. Thanks for watching!

@@crystalline9098 I just bought 500 ft of the Sea Otter Oak...it was so hard to decide. I knew I wanted the RevWood Premier but it came down to the SOOak, Lighthouse Oak and Nantucket Beige...which is wild because it was dark vs light. I planned on going lighter all along but eventually everybody pushed me to the dark side. If anybody is reading this, get the samples. They ship directly from Mohawk and they ship very quickly. These videos and the other guy that runs a store and posts videos were a great help with the Revwood Premier. It seems like a great product as I have dogs but want the feel of laminate over LVP.

Love the look, but why 54" max length on a wide plank? Kind of a miss in my opinion. At 70" this would be a slam dunk.

I completely agree! Revwood does have some 6 ft planks so I would expect the Premiere line will incorporate that in new styles at some point.

Are there any of them that are high gloss? I like the textured floor of the bathrooms but really love the gloss floor for living/dining area

Not currently. In general, most wood looks are veering away from high gloss towards more natural matte finishes. There are still some high gloss products available, but even with real wood floors they are less in style than previous years. Everything comes full circle though so I am sure we will see some more in the future.

Hey Robert! I'm from North Carolina and am building a new home. I've watched many of your videos reviewing various products. The house is on a crawlspace and I'm putting RevWood Plus throughout my entire house. What is the best underlayment for sound along with providing a solid feel In your opinion?

The solid feel is going to come from the subfloor itself, so if you are on a wood subfloor it will feel less solid than over concrete in general. As for the appropriate underlayment, the Mohawk RealSound underlayment is what we often use with this product and it has great ratings for both sound transmission (STC) and impact isolation (IIC).

Do you know how many repeats are in the Revwood premier product? Mohawk doesn’t list this on their website. Thx!

The number of repeats is a very ambiguous number because some brands will consider a plank unique even if the same pattern shows up in a different part of the board. I would say that the variation present is as high as any product I have seen though I don't know that Karastan has stated their expected repeat for each product yet.

Do you recommend a certain underlay for the laminate on concrete floor?

The Mohawk Realsound underlayment is a great option since its the same manufacturer. It provides both a mositure barrier and a quieter walk underfoot. I have it in my own home.

Do you need transition pieces in doorways?

I did my upstairs with about 700 sqft or less and did not use transition pieces in doorways at all, only where the flooring met the tile. The manufacturer has guidelines for transition pieces in doorways (if the doorways are bigger than 32 or 36” (can’t remember) then they advise transition pieces. You can call up Mohawk for that question.

Saw this vid and wanted to get Premier, but none of the colors matched our want…no true neutral, either too yellow, too gray, or too brown. On to one of the others…😢

Pattern repeat varies and what the manufacturer considers a unique pattern could be a repeat but on a different part of the plank. With that being said I would say they average 12 to 15 unique boards, including repeats in different locations.
