The most tride/true way of getting a great physique for both men and women is : 1) Full body lifting with progressive overload 3x per week. Full body is great because it allows for optimal frequency of each body part while also giving more overall recovery. **But it's important to focus on strength with traditional lifting. This means going relatively heavy where you can only do 6-10 reps max per set and taking full 2-3 min rest periods between sets. Don't circuit train to do cardio with weights or use light weight you can do endless reps with. The point is to add lean mass to raise your metabolic rate. 2) Daily walking. Walking is the best fat loss hack of all time. It is even easier when you use the "walking snacks" method. Spread the 10-20K steps over the whole day with short 15-30 min walks every 2-3hrs.

They lost me at ‘fat makes you fat’. I’ve listened to lots of info based on up to date research and it suggests controlling blood glucose it more important than calorie counting and fat doesn’t easily turn in stored fat, the body stores any excess as fat but more easily when glucose is raised. Seems this conversation wasn’t based on current research except for on the use of ozempic!

I do strength training, high intensity training and swim a few miles a week. Walking is just what I do to get around and enjoy relaxing in nature. Swimming was the thing that really made me drop fat fast. Walking never did that for me.
@ryandeffley76526 ай бұрын
Try walking at a brisk pace of 4mph and do it in higher volume/frequency. If you saunter around at a snail's pace and do it sporadically, it won't move the needle.
@catcan2216 ай бұрын
@@ryandeffley7652 Thanks for the input but I am a seasoned, brisk walker. Swimming laps beats walking for fat loss. Full body and water is 800 times more resistant than air. 😁
@ryandeffley76526 ай бұрын
@catcan221 - On the flipside, a person can intersperse TONS of walking throughout their entire day every single day of the year. This will burn far more cals overall than swimming. Not to mention, the walker is also lifting and doing formal cardio in addition to all of that walking. So in order for you to match, you'd have to swim for 2-3hrs every single day in addition to lifting and general movement. This is why walking is a perfect example of why the tortoise beats the hare.
@kathleenyang32514 ай бұрын
@@ryandeffley7652but then isn’t swimming also lifting..? Because when you’re swimming under water, gravity is pulling water down. Water’s not “heavy-heavy” per se but it’s still “water-weight” pulling down on the body. Secondly, by swimming, there’s water weight all around you that creates resistance in every direction as you move.. idk but I can see the benefits of both activities for fat burning, especially swimming now.. 😅😅
@ryandeffley76524 ай бұрын
@kathleenyang3251 - I'd counter simply based on the fact that swimming is aerobic and lifting is anaerobic. Swimming is continuous movement, which means the resistance has to be less by default to go for an extended period of time. This is traditionally why swimming is linked to cardio and rehab protocols from physical therapists. Lifting is anaerobic based on much heavier resistance and force production needed for much shorter bouts of time. This is traditionally why sets of lifting go for 20-30 sec with 2-3 min rest periods to replenish ATP.

FYI… while they are in the meat group…eggs are not chickens. There is no chicken unless it gets fertilized. In which case, it attaches via a cord, to the yolk. The yolk is what the chicken eats while growing. The whites of the egg are to protect… like the water in a woman’s belly. However, towards the end, the chicken eats that also
@catcan2216 ай бұрын
Yes, chicken eggs are protein but like the other commenter said, unless it has been fertilized it is just proteins and not an embryo of a chicken. Just like your eggs are just proteins & cells unless it is fertilized and becomes a human embryo. 😊

"How do you know if you lost fat or weight" is a weak delineation of weight loss. However, JJ lost me ~5 minutes in using specifically egg whites as part of a nutritious breakfast. Why oh why would an "expert" say this? Why not use the egg yolk? No need to listen further since now I'm confused and doubtful / skeptical of JJ's cred.
@crh2516 ай бұрын

@CogMarks6 ай бұрын
If you are trying to get in 30g of protein for breakfast, you will need to eat 4-5 eggs. If you want to eat any butter, fruit, or other food with those eggs, eating the whites would allow for that without blowing your calorie count at breakfast. The yolk is what makes the egg taste good, in addition to the choline and other nutrients it contains. I’m not a fan of eggs because you have to eat so many of them to get a decent amount of protein in a meal. I find it easier to have a protein shake or meat for breakfast to get in my protein.

What if there was like a national sign up voluntarily? If there could be sponsorship of companies that ran a challenge of participants to sign up and do this in several communities across the country then they all meet up at the end to see what they learned and they then could become volunteers in their community to help others. We need big sponsorships maybe even health companies or celebrities or sports people too. Plus maybe make an incentive with discounts to get people interested?

Eating protein first is not the most recent gut research recommendation. The best way to a healthier gut and keeping blood sugar levels under better control- is to eat vegetables first, then protein. I don’t have the data at hand but since I just heard it recently (on another of the same topic of overall and metabolic health) it shouldn’t be too hard to find info on it. These super healthy and good looking people are so easy to get hooked into- (it’s in our wiring) but we should use a little caution before jumping in head first. When she described her typical day of food- she totally lost me. I like eating healthy but I like actual food.

The worst thing is mixing them together... And yes I'm a trained Master Herbalist & Wholistic Therapist which includes training as a Nutritionist
