When starting out with jazz lines, it's so important to hear and play the target notes of the chord and also keep the direction of the tune in mind. i.e. be ready for the next chord

Great explanation of getting the sound of the changes right. One of the things I find I need to work on is paying attention to the end of a solo. I can target 3rds and 7ths etc, fairly well and then for some reason, it crashes at the end!. More practice required methinks 😊

Impressive content, Jazz Guitar Lessons. Looking forward to your next upload. I smashed the thumbs up button on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on constructing jazz lines are invaluable. How do you suggest beginners approach rhythmic subdivisions to sound more authentic in their improvisations?

Why not flat out demonstrate it? Demonstrate the flow of the line as it crosses the bar line, for example the note C ‘softening’ into the B at the change from Dm7 to G7? Or the tension increased as the E note is held across the transition from C maj to Fma7? Or sus chords? Let us hear the difference. Needs more demonstration of this shift in colour as the chord change influences the line. Sorry, explanation is clear but played examples too few. This comment added at 18:13

I dont understand why no lesson just put on a standard. Have the first 4 bars on loop and demostrate the idea instead.

Why couldn’t you give an example of what you talked about. Not one example was given
@jazzguitar2 ай бұрын
... I don't know what to say. Early in the video I said "pick up your guitar, we'll play some lines". And then, throughout the video, with the explanations, I played example after example and discussed. Like, DOZENS of examples. That was the whole point of the video. Maybe re-watch with a guitar in your hands and follow along to what I'm saying? "Not one example was given" 🤔
