I am very confused. How do you put zip tape on the inside of the mattress? I mean, you can't work from the inside, can you? I can understand where the dog chewed it, you can see that patch. But getting it up, on the inside seems impossible.

Huh. Good to know. I went against all advice and used Slime intended for going inside of bike tires. Downsides: 1) rotating mattress around so slime inside coats everywhere, and so it sat for some time where I knew the leak to be 2) I have deflated, moved, and re inflated it but am fearful that storing it deflated will result in a stick, glued, mess. Upsides: it totally worked and the 20 dollar Walmart air mattress has been used daily for months since.

Interesting. I never would have thought to use Slime. Would be curious to know how big the leak was and if it would work for a leak on the topside of the mattress?

I had just thought of that to do that same thing too. I didn' do it cuz only thing is I have a electrical air mattress so I don't know how we get inside of lt.

@@Tiny-DIY they sell marine stuff for the purpose of coating an inflatable dinghy or something but it isn't readily found, not as cost effective.

I never met an air mattress that didn't leak

Indeed. Sadly most leak from the fill valve, and besides cleaning the valve with compressed air regularly, there is not much that can be done about these leaks.
