The best way to glue Lego blocks together

This is the best way to glue any ABS plastic blocks together.
All the small plastic building blocks are made with ABS plastic. This plastic can quickly be attached using any Cyanoacrylate glue ( CA ).
Stay near the middle so that you don't get any white discoloration from the vapors. If you need to remove excess glue, do so quickly with a clean paper towel. If you wait too long, the glue will start to dissolve the plastic, and may cause the colors to smear.

No. Just acetone is the best way. It melts the surface and it becomes one piece. You can even melt a piece in some acetone to make a little "thicker" glue that gives you a little more time to work with it before drying.

Do not use cyanoacrylate on legos. You want to use methyl Ethyl ketone and just brush it on the part that you want to glue the bond is perminent

This is correct. Cyanoacrylate glue is krazy glue. Same with the Loctite 495. Loctite is probably the most expensive. Both are very fast drying and super strong. Lego is ABS plastic which these glues are designed for and melt the plastics together nicely. I have been glueing Lego for years and now I'm trying to find a cheap alternative to krazy glue. The solvents, Mek, acetone, etc. are all very harmful to breath in!

You can buy large bottles of super glue from stores that sell UPVC cladding, drain pipes and gutters etc. It's much cheaper than buying those tiny tubes.

Cyanoacrylate is not the best type of adhesive for Lego. Lego is made of ABS plastic, and CA glues cause embrittlement and sometimes crazing (fine cracks that look like spider webs). The best thing to use is a solvent such as MEK. This softens the ABS plastic and literally welds it together (in fact, the process is called 'solvent welding'). When the solvent evaporates, the pieces of plastic are permanently fused together - they essentially become one continuous piece of plastic.

Actually a LEGO Master builder who was recently building for LEGO at a recent build, said he uses MEK, found at any lowes. It dries very quick, within a minute he said so you must set the pieces correctly immediately or it will bond permanently in a wanky position.

CrazyMonkey702 This is super glue. It is extremely easy to get your fingers stuck together and some types of super glue instantly dries with contact to your skin. I would say NOT kid safe. Parental super vision required.
