'A' during operation will constrain cuts to angle increments in view space. (You can adjust the increment to taste, too, by immediately following up with a number)

Yezh but u can't do the bridge edge loops. That's not a lot of disappointment but it stills can pose a problem for few people

I'm going to test and see what I can come up with, but are you trying to bridge those new loops?

I usually just Ctrl-Shift-B evel the tip by (tiny) ... making side faces quads.
