Actually the requirements for break-in varies by car. Best is to refer to car manual. So far 2 cars that I drive they dun mention the speed limit but they mention about not exceeding the red line.

I was hoping that more car manufacturers pre-breakin the engine for us. I know currently only some performance car manufacturer do it.

It's hard for a mass production car because this kind of car they have a lot more demand then a performance car. For example this ativa, if perodua want to make pre-breaking for customer it will take time to just assemble just one car and it make the waiting time for customer longer. This will make their sales slower. Plus the increase in cost for the pre-breaking, this all is not good for business.

Pre-run in engines is a practice in small volume manufacturers like hyper/supercars. But even so, they will still recommend to take it easy for the first 1,000 km. Even AMGs hand-built engines advise a run-in period of 1,500 k 😃

🤔With today's technology, the precision of the manufacturing are more advance far more then you can imagine, this practice is our father's technologies that for my last few car, yes, those days yes you need to practice this. But now I think the car manufacture did not mention about the reason you should keep the 1K KM in caution driving style as this video try to explain, instead I think is not for the car, is for the Driver who must know and feel the function, the system, the brakes, cornering ratio, Where's the blind spot and the handling of your new car, maybe this video are little out of today's technology 😅But keep up the good work 👍🏽

Hi Adrian. Have you felt jerkiness (stumbling), when the AC compressor kicks in at low speed driving (traffic crawl). I could relate it with a misfire. Mine felt too rough that I have to switch off the AC. I've let SC verified the AC refrigerant pressure, seems OK. Trouble code checking, seems nothing by the SC.

Hi sir,mine Ativa AV.200km so far,been 1 month.I don’t drive everyday,so does it mean that it’s not a healthy way?Should I keep my engine warm for everyday,for about 5 to 10 minutes everyday?Or at least I should drive everyday for some time?Kind of confuse over this.Cause,I don’t always have time to drive my Ativa.Need your help on this.Thanks.

Don't need to warm the engine every day. Just make sure once a month you drive the car for at least 20 minutes or 20 km

Recommended for cars that have been sitting in storage for some time. Brand new cars not necessary until 10,000 km, unless you feel sometime is amiss.

According to veteran mechanics, any idling (esp in high temps) reduces the lifespan of the engine components. If you have to wait a long time in the car, just pop the hood. I do it all the time and after years of practicing this, I notice it makes a huge difference compared to my other 2 cars that didn't get the same good treatment.

@@armesisp3201 thanks for that advice, but what are the differences you experienced with you two other cars pls? My point is, it takes more effort to pull the release catch, get down from your car, put the hood up, get back in the car and the view in front is obscured by the hood. Then when you wanna drive off ... you hafta get off your seat, close the hood, get back in the car again. What I'll do is the roll down the passenger and driver's window, turn off the engine during the wait. If it gets unbearable warm, just get out of the car and wait somewhere safe and take with you the ignition keys (transponder) .

@@billylum3243 Yeah you could do that as well. If you change cars every few years you dont have to do this, but personally I like my cars to last long hehe. Previously I've had a ford escape v6 and a chevrolet captiva, after a few years alot of plastic and rubber components including many hoses needed to be changed. But with my current mazda 3 mps from 2011 that is treated better, the car is still like brand new. It was actually a Scotty Kilmer (car mechanic) video that talked about this. It was a fleet of police cars that needed hundreds of thousands of dollars in repairs because of idling too long all the time. Also, after I arrive home I always open the bonnet and let the engine bay cool down (all the plastics and rubber inside are still shiny and in excellent condition). Maybe its also the made in Japan quality...
