@@Jeff__M I'd say bulk for 3-6 months in 2-300 kcal surplus, making sure most of your diet is like 50/30/20 ratio of carbs protein fat. That way you put on minimal fat and won't need to cut as long after

One of the most helpful, well structured and informative training videos you've ever done. Maybe one of the best on KZbin. I've been going gym for about 4 years and still had a few "oh yeah" realisation moments from this that will help me improve my workouts. And you've gotten extremely good at explaining WHY you recommend X over Y for different situations. Thanks Joe

Joe your arms are in great shape and a really good size ,saying that you can’t lift heavy because of your bicep injuries. Goes to show you don’t need to lift heavy heavy weights to get good looking biceps. If anything they are the best part of your body! Great content by the way, excellent work.

Another sound video 👍 Would be interested in examples/advice on returning to training after injury and during times when injured, could pick some typical injuries to focus on such as a rotator cuff etc or just keep to generic advice. It is important to keep doing something no matter how little but what would you do Joe?…..cheers

Yeah, I am not an expert (actually quite far from it) when it comes to injuries and how to approach recovering from them. Maybe something to leave for somebody better qualified. There are some really good physio/rehab KZbin channels out there.

When you're in a rush but you have time to go the gym, change, workout, shower, change, come back from gym. Nonsense. Red thumb. Take a pack of water bottles in your kitchen and do isometrics when you're in a rush.

Hey, great Video! I really like the idea of incorporating low fatigue exercises that focus on one muscle group only. I often struggle to recover when i train 5 times a week with your full body split. Maybe such a workout would help, I‘d definitely buy it if you made one😅
@JoeDelaneyy
@JoeDelaneyy 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those full body splits are pretty intense. If I had to criticise, I'd say they don't leave much/any room for anything else physical. When I play footy mid-week, it can throw my training off a bit if I'm just not ready to go in and do split squats the very next morning. If you struggle, drop down to 4 training days per week. Still complete every day of the programme in order though, so your programme week will fall behind the calendar week. You may actually get better results that way...
@maxschafers3138
@maxschafers3138 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I will do that and maybe also stick to the RIRs because I noticed i go to failure very often🤣 I did make great gains though, last month I had about 1,4 kg of muscle

General question: if you can't make it to the gym, should you train at home (slightly sub-optimally) and risk not being fully recovered when you do get back to the gym, or just wait to continue your programme when you can get back in the gym?
@mrfcukmylife
@mrfcukmylife 2 жыл бұрын
I trained at home 3-4 days a week focussing on push up and pull up variations throughout covid lockdown before going back to the gym. Of course I wasn't as good as lifting weights because it's a completely different way of training, but I stayed in good shape and retained plenty of strength. I would say some training, however optimal, is better than none.

Most people spend way too much time lifting! Fine if you're pure strength training but for hypertrophy you can literally do that with one set!

I think best friend might be a bit much, but having followed you on off since Del Bros way back when, it's pretty cool to see how everythings gone for you for the past 10 years. And then reflecting like.. shit.. I'm 10 years older too. No real point to this (apart from to maybe look like a massive stalker?) then to say hope your well mate, and the kinda more mature/focussed content is a vibe. Not that the Tommy B techno wobble story times weren't, because they absolutely were, but different times hey
