Lure for deer hunting, I've had bucks follow this drag rag trail right to my stand. Here's a really slick way to set up a drag rag that bucks will follow. This really works.

I just started bow hunting and have had to learn on my own. Your scent advice brought a huge buck into my hunting area. Unfortunately, since I am noob I spooked him before I had a clear shot. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve done this many times .. ever time I do it I have buck walk right in on me and sometimes right under my stand . I don’t use the wicks , I have a small cut piece of towel about 2 to 3 inches wide and 6 to 8 inches long on a piece of para cord about 6 ft behind me. I leave them in a zip lock bag with the scents also.

Great advice, thank you!

Great advice. I then hang the wick ( or in my case I steal a tampon from the wife), on a tree 15 or 20 yards out. Have had them go right to that tree in my shooting lane.

How often do you freshen the wicks up and how many times do you use the same wick?
@BowhuntingRoad5 жыл бұрын
I usually don't freshen them during use as I normally only walk 100-200 yards with it. Maybe once when going up to 200 yards. I put them in a sealed bag and use them again until they start to smell like ammonia then discard them.
@stacylott7856 Жыл бұрын
do you use it early season??
@BowhuntingRoad Жыл бұрын
Doesn't seem to do much until about the end of October.

I've always started from the destination and walking out to my truck.....simply is weakest at truck and super strong at starting point, the way you explain it is backwards to me
@BowhuntingRoad4 жыл бұрын
The difference between weakest and freshest is an important distinction. Plus, if you drag it to your truck, you're at the truck!

@@BowhuntingRoad it's called prep...from blind to truck...only a dumb deer would follow a weakening sent trail....I live in vermont and scents are illgal....New Hampshire they are legal..it's a waisting desease thing
@BowhuntingRoad4 жыл бұрын
@@davideastman4273 You are missing the entire point. Deer have no interest in weak versus strong scent. They only care about fresher. They do not follow based on weakness, they follow based on AGE of the scent. Two totally different concepts.

@@BowhuntingRoad interesting theory, follow the hot doe in the opposite direction she's going
@BowhuntingRoad4 жыл бұрын
@@davideastman4273 The opposite direction she is going would be older. The direction she is going would be fresher.

What do you think about this new synthetic Doe Estrus scent
@BowhuntingRoad6 жыл бұрын
Really good question, I have not tried it yet.I would suspect it would stay fresh longer.

@@BowhuntingRoad ok, it just seems real low and kinda "tinny" sounding? Maybe just the room. P.s. the p.s for the tip! I'm going to give it a try.

Don’t use scents. Scent free is only way to kill mature bucks . Of course you could get lucky.
@BowhuntingRoad4 жыл бұрын
It's certainly not the ONLY way. A lot of big bucks have fallen victim to the right lure used the right way. To each his own.

@@BowhuntingRoad I agree. If it’s part of what makes you love hunting, then absolutely, it’s awesome

horrible advice walk up and down deer trails lol get your scent everywhere
@BowhuntingRoad4 жыл бұрын
Of course you do not walk up and down the trails, you cross them as much as possible so the deer using the trails come across the lure.
