Please help me! What are your thoughts on my case and with regard to statins and blood thinners for my particular case, i am 38 and recently had a silent stroke, i have a damaged cerebellum area, doctor has said i should be on blood thinner and statin for life for prevention of future stroke but!... here's the thing, they are at a complete loss as to why I've had one because i have never smoked, i have never drank much at all, the odd time in the year but generally don't drink at all, don't do illegal substances and always been health and diet conscious, I've never been overweight in my life always slightly underweight 9-10 stone, I'm about 5ft 8inch, my internal body fat is ridiculously low, the docs have also never tested my cholesterol even when they've now gave me statins, i just know they will say stop eating meat dairy and cheese e.t.c i do have active hemachromatosis but have been having venesection for years. I suffer chronic headaches and migraine and beck pain, i have a slipped disk in neck think it is a c5 c6 disc. I have had these issues before the stroke, i often feel dizzy easy too. I've been ill for years picking up viral infections, i get many sinusitis and have had shingles about 5 times, i have it now in fact, i had coxsakie virus at age 16 as well as cellulitis infection a little later, i have varicose veins in my scrotum and i had bright led lips when younger that could absorb blood through them in to a tissue without actually being cut, it was strange never heard of anyone else having this. I mention all this in case related but i did have a lumbar puncture 17 weeks after the first scan found the stroke infarction. The lumbar puncture did not find anybinfection, I also have a brain cyst in middle of brain near memory area of brain. The Walton centre in Liverpool are doing bugger all to help me, 10 months on I've only just been told about and offered statin and blood thinner clopidogrel. Should i take these if my base numbers have not been tested for and the fact i meet no normal stroke indicators? I have had an extremely stressful life and struggle sleeping for a number of years, whilst i know these two things would not help a situation are they enough on their own to cause stroke with absence of all the other usual causes?
