The fact the beam reflexor is so broken is the reason I hate it so much, it makes Jak 3's combat a joke. That isn't to say it's not fun, but I really wanted more from Jak 3's combat. Great video either way my guys, was cool to see the collab

Would have been interesting tactical choice if the beam reflexor's shots could also hit Jak. Though I luckily conditioned myself out of the Beam Reflexor at an early age, because I help out the Freedom Guard in the front lines in every playthrough and there it creates just untold amounts of friendly fire.

The plasmite RPG is also useful against the dark precursors in rescue Seem, it has some more niche uses as a worse peace maker more or less. The only gun I'd put very differently is the mass inverter, it combos like crazy with other guns and is very ammo efficient, so it'd be bottom of A for me (also, dang, I wrote this as you two mentioned someone would disagree with you on it, hahah).

A shot with the Mass Inverter followed by a charged shot followed by the Wave Concussor is an absolutely hilarious combination that sends enemies all over the place. It's also extremely efficient against Dark Makers.

This was a great video idea and I'd love to see it done with other things as well, like maybe Vehicles, Npcs, enemies, areas or missions! It could become a really great series! I completely blew someone’s mind when I told them that the ammo of the guns was based off the 3 of the 4 Eco in the first game :) the Scatter was based on red for the power of Red eco, blaster yellow eco for the yellow fireballs it gave you, and the Vulcan got blue because of the rapid fire, clever. Lmao the guy was like 😲 and of course the Peacemaker wielded the somehow tamed power of dark eco 😈

I love lists like this! My only hard-disagree is the placement of the peacemaker. Busting dark maker shields, chain lightning enemies, and dealing tons of damage with ammo efficiency HAS to make it A-tier. Imo**

It's funny you should put the scattergun so low. I totally agree, which is why it was such a surprise to me when I played Jak II (a few years after 3 when I was a kid), and it was my favorite weapon even after you get the blaster. It works so much better in that game where it's not instantly outclassed by like five other weapons.

i think it was like 10 pacemaker ammo. you get those all charged up and launch one nuke and overshoot the target into liquid it's kind of a scoop and cry and quietly shut the game off 🥲

Here's my ranking list. My criteria is utility (how often it can be used), effectiveness (killing potential), efficiency (ammo saving) and how good it is in a pinch. 1. Beam Reflexor - It needs no introduction. This weapon is unstoppable and effortless to use. Simply jump-spin-shoot (JSS) and you'll fire multiple shots that will make short work of large swarms. No aiming is required as the blasts and ricochets target enemies for you. This weapon is the best at bailing you out if you suddenly find yourself overwhelmed. Just fill the area with shots and watch the fireworks. Overpowered to the core. 2. Needle Laser - Shots home in on targets, reducing the burden of aiming. This makes it one of the best anti-air options. It also fires triple shots, allowing for three times the damage. It has a high rate of fire and is capable of swiftly neutralising hordes of enemies. However, it has a slow start up and some distance is required to maximise its potential. I would also class this gun as OP. 3. Peace Maker - Has much more utility in Jak 3 when compared to Jak 2, thanks to the ammo capacity buff. Unleashes devastating power with a discharge radius that instakills any non-boss enemy, including Dark Makers with their shields up (this is an important benchmark, as Dark Makers are the biggest threat in the game). 4. Plasmite RPG - Its power is a great asset. When fired, it creates a large explosion that instakills all non-boss enemies caught in the radius, including Dark Makers with their shields up. Best fired point blank to avoid missing. Also, since the other red guns have low usage later in the game, there is little need to worry about saving ammo. 5. Blaster Mod - A classic that remains relevant in Jak 3 as a more economical substitute for the Beam Reflexor when the situation isn’t so dire. JSS is capable of taking out swarms. It’s also a good go-to weapon if you need to be quick on the draw, since you don't have to scroll through your weapons. 6. Arc Wielder - By shooting while performing 360 spins, you can make short work of surrounding enemies. If the beam is concentrated, it is even capable of defeating large enemies. However, aiming is awkward against flying enemies, which is why it is ranked lower than the Blaster. 7. Vulcan Fury - Has a very high rate of fire, making it capable of dispatching enemies quickly in frontal assaults. Able to stun-lock enemies, making them vulnerable to follow up shots. It can use JSS to some extent but it is less accurate than the Blaster. 8. Wave Concussor - Releases a shockwave that damages and knocks back enemies caught in the radius, making it good at dealing with grounded swarms. Maximising the weapon’s potential involves combining it with your melee attacks, which unfortunately means putting yourself in harm's way. The charge up time and limited range prevent it from being ranked higher. 9. Scatter Gun - Has a wide field of fire, making it more accurate and allowing it to hit multiple targets. It is good for taking out small enemies to save the ammo of your more powerful weapons. However, it is limited both in range and rate of fire. Ranked above the weapons below because they are rarely used. 10. Mass Inverter - Low usage but it can be useful for preventing enemies from shooting you while you traverse precarious segments. It also helps you to avoid unnecessary battles and make enemies vulnerable to your other weapons. It is very situational though and it is usually better to save the dark ammo and go straight for the kill. 11. Super Nova - The ultimate weapon in terms of sheer destruction. Capable of nuking all enemies in the immediate area, making it a viable desperation weapon if the situation is utterly hopeless. Its most glaring weakness is that it consumes 8 of your already painfully limited dark ammo, which could come back to bite you later in the mission. 12. Gyro Burster - Its biggest flaw is that it eats up a whopping 50 of your yellow, which could be better invested in the Beam Reflexor. The storm of shots that it releases has a high damage output, especially in conjunction with another of your weapons. However, it has a limited area of effect, meaning that it has to be strategically placed. Even once you eject the disk, there is a delay before it begins firing. Therefore, it cannot be counted on as a panic weapon.

mass inverter is the best support gun beam reflexor doesn't work outside....but when you shoot mass inverter beam reflexor OWNS enemies on screen it's cheep, it's super fun, and it's the fastest way to clear enemies when driving

For a similar ricochet weapon experience as the Beam Reflexor, I'd recommend playing Magick Archer in Dragon's Dogma and using the ricochet lightning arrow

21:25 if the gyro buster was the second upgrade and the beam reflexor was the final upgrade for the yellow eco gun, it would have brought more balance to the game and justified more gyro buster usage across a longer stretch of the game. When I first got the gyro buster as a kid, I thought it was rad and badass the first 3 times I used it. After the coolness effect wore off I immediately would only have the yellow gun set to the beam reflexor unless I was bored and had tons of yellow ammo to blow through

I don't like the gyro buster due to how inefficient it really is. Sure it is like a mini turret, but it wastes 1/4 of your ammo each time you use it. And you have the beam reflexor which effectively does everything better. To this day I only found ONE use for it and that was the bonus challenge where you have to kill a ton of metalheads in a very short time.

The morph gun is one of the best weapons I’ve ever had the pleasure of using in a game and I wish people talked about it more. Also I had the same opinion about the scattergun for years, but if you purchase the rate of fire upgrade it fires about as fast as you can pull the trigger. Between that and it’s knock back it’s very nice against swarms or enemies who like to close the gap, but are too dangerous to melee. Still a C tier, maybe B tier gun though. The only guns that belong in D tier are the wave gun and the sentry upgrade for the blaster.

Shame the scatter gun was really useful in Jak 2 in my opinion especiallyin situations where you have a bunch of metal heads around you and in the second Baron fight. In this game it just became completely obsolete after 2 missions

Oh the weapons in Jak 3 are quite fun to use. I did do a pitch idea of a future Jak and Daxter gameplay idea in art form to experiment with the different powers and stats (which I like to call Double Power Ammo). Imagine this, a gun for Red and Yellow eco, Red and Blue Eco, Red and Dark Eco, Yellow and Blue, Yellow and Dark Eco, Blue and Dark Eco. I have to imagine that's why the Krimson Guard's weapons shoot out a orange laser fire and blue electric taser and the bomb launcher, same for the vehicles like the hellcat cruiser.
