@JMLRetroRoom2 жыл бұрын
If you get one of these, make sure it only outputs 480p and no upscaling. Plus you can benefit from the mCable or mClassic using 480p. The upscaling is fake. It’s only there for TV’s that can’t handle lower resolutions well so it sends a fake upscaled signal (DVI) so your TV recognizes it. The Hyperkin is good as it only does 480p.
@JuanDiaz-jo1rw2 жыл бұрын
The Mclassic is not a fake upscale signal. Which is the reason why it also looks even sharper with it. If it was a fake signal, there wouldn't bee any difference from 480p to 1080p/1440p signal. I do agree on the Hyperkin HDMI solution. But you're wrong about the Mclassic. Because I actually run my Wii with the Hyperkin + Mclassic, and the difference is day and night on my TV.
@JMLRetroRoom2 жыл бұрын
@@JuanDiaz-jo1rw I’m not referring to the mClassic. I’m referring to the Wii2HDMI adapter. That has fake scaling for TV’s that can’t handle 480p signals. I like the mClassic and still use it today.
@CommDante2 жыл бұрын
@@JMLRetroRoom Imho the mClassic has better picture quality at 720p than even native 1080p Switch games, since it adds 'AA' and edge highlighting etc ...and most Switch games don't even have native 1080p (and you get the benefit of having more overhead, because rendering at a lower aimed res. Which results in fewer framedips in general, but not all games) . On 480p signal 'output' like the Wii and GameCube though, it's a world of change imho. It costs a lot though, imho not really worth it for just Switch, but if you also got old consoles that do 480p (or a PS3, which has most games at 720p, and quite unique games), it's at least worth considering.

@@bombjack1984 It might be your TV has some noise reduction filtering getting rid of the interference lines. But Wii's analogue signal has interference before it even gets to the HDMI adapter. And the anlogue signal degrades over time due to capacitor aging - all of my Wiis now have black crush and very faint vertical lines on solid blue fields, which are even more visible when converted to HDMI. Another issue with 480p is that TVs may decode the color as HD color, making reds look orangey and washed out, yellows a bit greenish. A better comparison would of been a component to hdmi converter. Like the Portta. I have used the cheap wii to hdmi adapters and they are no good. Mayflash is better but it does not support virtual console games example like Mario Kart 64 which is a big bummer for me. I just purchased the Portta component to Hdmi to compare with the mayflash and also to see if the Portta converter can work with Virtual Console games

How .much of a difference do you see?
@juniorrivera16802 жыл бұрын
@@olsonbryce777 Not much of a difference but I would still go with the portta since it uses component cables to hdmi. I have been using it ever since and works great no issues. Got it under $20 from amazon and I already had component cables. Also I got the virtual consolse games to work with both devices.

@@juniorrivera1680 When you say you got Virtual Console games to work with "both devices", do you mean the Portta as well as the Mayflash?
@alexrivera23332 жыл бұрын
@@soridosuneku Yes. You have to do something to make the virtual console games to work. An update on a wii made them not work but doing this fixes it. If you are having issues with vc games lmk and i can give you the steps

Mayflash and Wii2HDMI look more or less the same. I'd just use the official Wii component cable myself.

I have a wii2hdmi and the quality sucks!!! Its actually worst. The screen was small and it had lines oing across the screen. My component cables look better.

I just bought a wii2hdmi on the strength of your previous videos😒🙄🤦 totally confused.

Wii2hdmi is not bad at all... and for that amount of money we can't complain. Mayflash is the best only 4x the price and image looks little bit better question remains what dongle does makes you happy 😄
