I love watching Wood Chipper videos. I would love to get one someday. Safer than a brush fire, in my opinion. There have been so many brush fires that have gotten out of hand in my area. Spring and fall, the fire companies are busy fighting brush fires.

Very informative. I also saw the TTWT video. He had the MX 9900. I think that would be overkill for my 1023E. I then thought about the MX 8800. That just seemed a little too heavy for my Tractor as well. Then I researched the MX 8600 & thought that was the perfect fit. I searched KZbin & came across your video. This will be perfect for cleaning up my property. I also saw Brocks video. I agree with him that (& you) that you could easily just buy more wood chips than most people could use in a lifetime for less than the cost of the chipper. I'm just interested in cleaning up my woods that were neglected the last few years. That was because I physically couldn't do it because I was technically dying at that time (didn't know it). I ended up having to have a life saving Liver Transplant back in November of 2022. Then a Kidney Transplant in October of 2023. I'm 54 & feel like I'm 35 again!!! I also love doing outside work & getting outside & sweating. I could easily afford a log splitter but I just bought a good Axe to chop up the fallen trees for firewood. I have 2 fireplaces. They both have gas logs. I bought 2 IBC Totes & have already filled up one & have started on the second. I figure I'll just surprise some family in need this winter with a Tote full of firewood. Anyway, thanks for the information about the chipper.

Glad you are feeling better. I bought this from a guy who had a 1025. Here is our first video on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIW2p5SDaKyAi68

I had a tree crew working in my area. They were happy to give the 40 yards of chips to me for free. It saves them time transporting it 30 miles to get rid of it. Yes, it was hurricane refuse, but it worked great for them and me.

I'm really sold on the hydraulic feed. I looked at the Woodmax 8600 website, and it lists for $3895.00. My farm is a 3rd generation farm. My Grandpa passed away in 1985 and my Dad didn't want it so it went to my Aunt. I got it from my Aunt about 4 years ago. Not much has been done since my Grandpa passed away. Here in Northwestern Pennsylvania we get lots of storms. There are many trees and limbs down from the passed 40 years. It's a very wet climate and burning old rotten wood just won't work and there is always trees and limbs being blown down. A chipper looks like my best option. I plan on getting cattle once I finish rebuilding all of the fences. Wood chips would be great bedding. So it would be a bug benefit for me.

One more reason for wood chipping and not burning is burn bans. Down in south Texas we have drought for years and not safe to burn.

I wouldn’t mind a chipper for slash cleanup when cutting firewood and cleaning up blow downs. The fact that we use wood chips in the garden and orchard would be another benefit - we can always use the wood chips! Price is the barrier, and the fact that I would want the biggest chipper opening/capacity possible 😆.

Nice machine! Does it like smaller branches, trimmed hedge material, leafs, ...?
@PineyGroveHomesteadАй бұрын
We have several videos on this chipper. Works great with small branches. I throw handfuls of pine needles in it when I'm cleaning up and it spits them out, but it's not made like a shredder for leaves. It has no problem with leaves on branches, but I wouldn't shovel piles of leaves in it!

The key to wood chipping is horsepower! 25hp is a joke.
@PineyGroveHomestead10 ай бұрын
This chipper is rated for down to 15hp at the PTO and takes up to 6" logs. Very fuel efficient and in the video you can see it ain't joke!!
@ronbell7920Ай бұрын
I think a heavy flywheel could compensate for the hp.
